@moogoo +1 like

I am not a very active participant, but have been reading this thread for years. It seems there is always sometime taking Sony's or SE's actions personally as if they were bringing out "bad" phones to upset them.... i think everyone who comes here wishes Sony to be the best they can be, to me you are one of these people who would also constantly rant if your football team lost a game. Deal with it.

Yes, your last post was not directly critizising, but I do NOT come here to read LG specs. All of us here are well aware of what other manufacturers are producing and maybe we sometimes even look at them with an envious eye. But in the end we all own Sony's and are proud to.

Now I am asking you in a polite way, please lets keep the discussions around Sony Mobile as much as possible. I think in the end you are just as much fan as any of us, there is no other way I could imagine you constantly coming back, wasting so much time here to bash/critisize Sony and what they are missing out on if you didn't have some love for them

Now back to topic. I had a look at this video where the guy is comparing V + T (dont listen to what he says its huge bs) but interestingly I see that the screen on the V seems to be somehow brighter, clearer and with better viewing angles. Anyone any ideas whats making the difference?

Just to mention ( I'm just pointing it out, not arguing, don't reply me, it's their opinion, not mine ) - it seems Cnet shares my opinion on the new Xperia designs. What they said in the Xperia Arc S review:

While the Xperia Arc S doesn't qualify as a massive improvement over its direct predecessor, the Arc, it is nonetheless a solid choice. Its eye-catching design is backed up by a great screen and a surprisingly powerful 8.1-megapixel digital camera.

With a "Gorgeous design" mentioned as a plus.
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mob[....]-xperia-arc-s-review-50005613/

While their Xperia T says:

We weren't impressed by the T's looks -- in fact, our first impression on handling the phone is that it's fairly bog-standard for a high-end phone. Still, it is thin and light. It comes in black, silver and white. The Sony Xperia T doesn't make much of a first impression.

And they even put a "Underwhelming styling" as a big minus.
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mob[....]sony-xperia-t-review-50009031/

So I'm definitely not minority, since quite a lot of people agree and trust Cnet reviews. Anyway, yet again, I'm just pointing it out, not arguing, so don't reply me. No more posts about the design. I quit.

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

I couldn't give a rat's ass about what CNET think. They are the least credible and most biased tech site out there and clearly have a hatred towards Sony phones. I'm sure we all remember earlier this year they reviewed the Xperia S and claimed it has a much worse camera than the Iphone 4S and even provided "proof" to backup their claim and later they were bashed for days by people for that biased and crappy review.
Heck even Iphone owners acknowledged it was a biased review.

It saddens me that leaked news is starting to dry up. I used to enjoy coming in here every day hoping to find some new leaked tidbit, but I guess those days are either over, or are now very far apart.

I do like what I'm seeing on the new Sony phones, and can only hope that the 2013 phones will kick it into overdrive and we'll see some truly outstanding tech and designs. I'm also still holding out a bit of hope for a Vitaphone, but from what randomuser has stated, that won't be anytime soon if at all. Either way, I imagine that my next phone will be displayed at CES or MWC 2013 so I can't wait! My x10a is just barely hanging in there at this point.

@vivftp

Well there won't be any rumors until late December now. So we can only chat off topic here until then LOL
Anyway, I do have a rumor that I could share but I won't as there is almost no confirmation on it.

@HxH

That only applies to Exynos based devices Nothing to do with Sony

Totally has to do with Sony. A CM dev working on Samsung devices is jumping to Sony because, for starters, Sony primarily uses QCOM chipsets (I'm curious as to how open they've been with the ST-E based phones). And then the dev goes on to highlight that Sony's already released the Xperia T binaries despite the phone not even shipping in some regions yet.

If Android is about openness, then everything points to Sony being the (surprisingly given the history of the non-Mobile divisions of Sony) biggest supporter out of the OEMs of the ecosystem.

Design is subjective, it's an opinion and not an absolute fact. Everyone except the narcissistic retards know this. You don't like it? Good for you. Don't try to shove it down everyone's throats. People are not going to agree with you always and they are not brainwashed for it. People have common sense and can judge for themselves.
btw, I wonder how many people wrote those CNET reviews? 10 million people? Nope, just a single person. So, right now that's 1+1, you and the guy who wrote that review. You're still a minority. Most people don't take their reviews seriously anyway. If you want serious unbiased reviews, go to gsmarena.com.
Btw, can you comment about other areas where Sony's new phones are "a step behind" the 2011 phones? No you can't. The new phones have better processors, better screens. The camera hasn't really changed that much but its not worse. They have also sold more than those 2011 phones!! But, you don't argue about things which are objective because the 2011 phones are worse than 2012 phones from an objective perspective. The only category in which the 2011 phones can be better is purely subjective, different people have different opinions. When people take their opinions too far and start treating them as absolute facts, they annoy other people. That's why people don't take you seriously.

I have never seen a person who uses his signature to hate on something. You have given yourself a "Sony hater" badge. It's always hard to believe that you're being really objective when you talk about Sony! Continue hating Sony, nobody is stopping you, nobody cares. Sony is not affected, neither are we. You'll find like minded people elsewhere. Perhaps you can even start a website, put some more time into this hatred and money as well. Just don't annoy readers here.
And thanks a lot for quitting, this is best thing that can happen to this thread! I really hope you stick to your words. A lot of people who don't post, come here to read about rumors and these posts have been a major annoyance.

I dont think they will go for wp8. If microsoft is successful with windows phone, then it will hurt their playstation brand alot thanks to xbox live gaming, and that is something which sony cannot afford.

It's an example of custom core that affect to 3rd party developers community, it could be less chance for Sony to create their own custom SoC as well. Even moving out from Qualcomm to another chipset provider!

^^^

I disagree, Qualcomm has their own design ( different than the original A9 or A15 designs ) but still open-source friendly mainly because they decided to support them... in the opposite direction is Samsung which uses original ARM designs like A9 or A15 with other combinations ( GPU's + Radio parts ) but they decided not to support the open source community that much...

TI is almost the same story as Samsung, they use original ARM designs + some combinations of their own... but they support the open source community much better than Samsung...

If Sony decided to make their own SoC, either by building it from ground or by asking for custom designs from other makers then they have the choice of supporting the developers... depending on other SoC makers normally means they will stick to the SoC maker for the license and degree of openness, thankfully both TI and Qualcomm are open in this point...
