OK. Thanks. The Nokia 9300 works quite well especially with the smartner mail. It's not as robust as some of the other phones which leaves me lacking. I also have a T-mobile MDA, which is nice, but it's WM5 and a little slow and buggy.. Mostly a PDA first, then a phone.

A leaflet on downloads that came in the P990 box refers to the p990a!

If there is a P990a released look out for EDGE support and what UMTS frequncy it uses. Its possible with Cingular's roll-out in progress it may be compatible. T-Mobile less likely as their frequencies will be different after the AWS auction.

Could somebody who has a p990 please list what apps are not available in FC mode please? I know opera and the calculator are not. (can't think why calculator isn't available!?) But have read opera mini does work in FC mode, which is cool. Thanks

Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking since February when I ordered my P990i, Expansys have finally sent it and the b****ds at the post office waited until I went to work to try and deliver it!

After I have retrieved it from the sorting office at 8.30 tomorrow I will need to know how to set up the internet. Can anyone point me to somewhere with the correct info for t-mobile?

T-mobile will say they do not support the phone and SE wanted to know how I had already got one ( well almost ) so they will not help. I need the settings for IP address and DNS etc.

Can anyone offer some help please.

Thanks,

Daniel

Does anyone have any idea where in the USA the P990 can be found? I know the networks don't/won't carry them and I had to sell mine weeks ago to make my car payment. I now have the scratch to get a new one, but I can't likely go to the UK or Dubai. Help a Yank out!

Now that it seems as though a P990a might actually make an appearance, is it worth it to wait for the "a" version if I live in the US and want to take advantage of high-speed internet?

Will the P990i work on US high-speed networks?

Thanks.

I think it was asked before but not adressed.
Is the RSS feeder application there? Is it the same as the M600i?

Thanks

I want one now, although I had a play with the TyTn for about 10 mins today, it is quite nice to use, but is very similar to an ipaq I used to have.

Looks like I'm going to have to just keep reading your opinions for the next month whilst I wait for my upgrade.....

Hopefully it should just mean there will be a new firmware upgrade by that time, liiks like there are lots of little bugs. Maybe an updated opera aswell.

If I can't hack the wait I'll get the TyTn, and in that case I will have a Martin Fields p990 screen protector to "donate" to Esato, but only if I get the p990, probably quite unlikley though.

Report i've heard is that the P990i has been rejected by all Uk networks for now hence it going back to a September release.

The tale I had from Vodafone was that a firmware upgrade was imminent and that they were holding on for that.

If so it makes sense as they don't want their shops flooded with people asking them to help with an online firmeware upgrade.
