Talking of impulse buying, last night after work I headed to the shopping centre( V&A Waterfront) and picked up a pair of these to replace my stolen Asics. These are my first pair of New Balance running shoes and they feel very comfortable and light.

I've a pair of New Balance as well, rather ancient in fact. They're the only running shoes i own, and are looking downright decrepit! Z's thrown them out twice already, but they mysteriously spirit themselves back into the house...

I'm wearing them right now. I think if you've owned anything for too long an unhealthy relationship starts to build.

Just get rid of your kicks! Your wife will love you more...."look baby, I did it for you and our marriage"

People,I am impressed with the Panasonic VS6 that I have just bought.
Honestly, the only 2 criticsms I have is its lack of expandable memory (32mb shared)and no flash to complement the 2mp camera, but as a second phone (still using my reliable, beloved P900 as my primary phone) it more than does the job.
And the 'Piano Black' theme is so damn classy-looking.
Has the legendary Sonic the Hedgehog game pre-installed,together with a soccer game, where you can choose one of 25 different countries to play against.(no Bafana Bafana though...)
There is a great range of camera options and features too.

Now this I find interesting: Carphone Warehouse, the UK's biggest cellphone retailer, has the new range of PAYG phones UNLOCKED and totally sim-free.

This I find mind-boggling:
This phone and the very capable, underrated Sagem myX6-2 are sold much cheaper when you buy it WITH a PAYG sim.
An example: I paid £99 for the Panasonic after buying a £10 top-up with the free sim included, thus costing me a total of £109.99.The phone is thus sold as a PAYG,not a sim-free handset, even though the phone is totally sim-free with no branding or network software.
However,if I decide to just buy same the phone, without the simcard of my choice from them, the exact same phone is sold as a 'sim-free' phone, and it'll then cost you £149.99!!!!!!!WTF???!!!!!
Amawanqa to sales assistant,"Ermmm,I'll take a sim of my choice with the obigatory £10 top-up and get the phone £40 cheaper than if I didn't take the simcard...!!!"
Talk about crazy network subsidising...
I would have understood it if the phone was locked to a specific PAYG network and had all branding etc.,but the new CPW stock is truly sim-free.
This is all in conjunction with CPW and their marketing clout that they enjoy with the phone manufacturers, not just the networks,as a few of the pre-installed wallpapers on the phone have carphonewarehouse graphics as well, apart from the sim-free nature of their new PAYG phones.

Will be posting pics etc. in the near future.

@da wanqsta: That same phone was also £99 on eBay.
Anyone know why we don't get a lot of Panasonic phones in SA?
@da krypsta: Are those undies by any chance the leopard print variety?

The other slight downside of the VS6 is no external display.
The phone does however have a push-to-open-flip mechanism, and you are able to asign the LED's(that circles the mirror's perimeter) colours for incoming calls, messages, etc.

No more battling to sms with the Nokia 7600,which was my back-up phone until now.
The display is the best that I have seen on any phone to date.
Amazing how cellphone technology has snowballed over the past few years.

@da krypsta: It's quite crazy. I used to work at the Cape Argus...Joseph Aranes used to be my boss.
I've checked out Blackman Ngoro's latest posting and he is as crazy as ever...I agree with him when he says there's been a concerted campaign against Mfeketo by elements within her party aided by Rarool.
