Lenovo will disagree while they keep laughing all the way to the bank with Sony's money.
Any statistics source or market research group will tell you that the sales of laptops have been in flat or negative growth since the birth of the modern tablet. It is a market in decline. By contrast the smartphone market and tablet market are still booming. The comparison between Xperia now and VAIO when it was sold isn't a realistic one, the markets are going in the opposite direction to one another.
even Lenovo is not doing great. In general, the pc business especially the laptops is going down.
Anyway, who buys a lenevo that piece of shit I build my own PC any day and any time |

yeah, with tablets on the rise and the over saturated market of PC, make perfect sense to sell off their VIAO division. Even Samsung, a company that loves to stick their hands into absolutely everything had to let go of their laptop division.
There is just not enough money to be made, let the smaller guy or pc vet like Asus and Acer fight for the scrap. Having Xperia brand also more meaningful than VIAO, they already got their own tablet line up, if there is ever a need to go back to the PC market, they can just use their Xperia brand for that. |

But actually, I really like VAIO. I was really sad when sony sold the division. All my desktops and laptops since the year 2000 are VAIO. I really hope for Sony to reboot the VAIO division.

VAIO is owned by JIP (Japanese Industrial Partners), but Sony has a 10% stake of that independent company...
And the VAIO Z Canvas is coming sometime in October in the US (and in Brazil as well I think)

I too love VAIO, I hope to see it back to my region also... the only thing that I can think after VAIO is Macbook Pro... but that's too much expensive.. the top end ( 16GB, 512GB, ded. GPU ) one we have here costs $2740 !!
And that VAIO Z Canvas is awesome... it just needs a Type C port

13MP & 16MP so these in 95% of cases won't be used on Sony flagship models...

Guardian is reporting 3+ day battery life for Z5C. Although their usage pattern is unknown, it means that the battery life will be at least decent I guess. I'm expecting a bit lower (around 90% in GSMarena's test) battery life for Z5 and slightly longer (around 105% in GSMarena's test) battery life for Z5P compared to Z5C.

Sony is rumored to build LG exclusively a custom made 20MP 1/2'' Sensor. If this is true expectations for the Z6 are even higher.

Could the 16 MP cam be the rumored Z5 Ultra's camera? |

hope it would be 16MP rather than 13MP, and please include flash. |

Wonder how thick it would be with such a large sensor? If it is to be believed it will also ship with OIS as well, it could be quite a respectable camera. It is still a at least 6 months off, so things can easily change before then.
@maloqs
where did you see the new phone? FCC? |

LG's flaghips have always been pretty thick, I think they'll squeeze 1/2" sensor pretty easily. |
