I would say that most of us here would agree that the finish on the silver X1 is probably similar to the silver finish on the P1. Just for that reason alone I ordered the black one cuz I have a launch day P1 that I'd never dropped or anything, and my silver is rubbing off on it along the sides and edges.
So that alone was why I went with the black. Dont get me wrong the silver looks smooth, but I hated how it started to wear on the sides like that.
But overall, in the X1 case you cant go wrong with either color. This was just my reason why I chose black and maybe it could help out someone else to make up their mind.

just a easy question to ask those who got the x1, does the retail package comes with a screen protector?
If it doesn't I think I would need to get 1 as soon as mine arrive (hopefully in like 2 weeks time)
Thanks |

I actually want to find something out from owners that noone else has mentioned so far. Now there are 3 things holding me back from going for the X1 at the moment:
- £500 is an extreme price to pay for a phone, even the contracts sound shockingly expensive
- No accelerometer (it costs so much, so why the hell not!?)
- 65K colour screen.
The last one is what I want to ask about. People keep going on about how sharp and bright and crisp the screen is, but what about the colours themselves? Try to separate this from brightness here. Brightness is something I can just increase on my current phone if I want and be happy, so I don't really care about that. But the colours: how well does it render gradients, for example, in practice? The last link to a set of screenshots I saw had very bad gradients on it. People still argue its alot of colours, but then you get some gradient come along and cut that into a bunch of ugly lines even when its 262k ( I suppose that also means you cant win anyway >D). So if anyone could comment on this once they have a device, that'd be great |

@D-Southwest
X1 is neither a feature phone nor a Walkman phone. So the MegaBass setting probably does not exist on the X1. Possibly it is an option in the Sony media player panel
However, any decent third party mp3 player will give you an EQ that can be adjusted along with some sort of "pre-amp" stage (for cranking the volume beyond what the volume buttons allow). These two features are essentially the building blocks of MegaBass. |

I have a G900 it is not a walkman or cybershot YET it has megabass. The X1 has the sony media, so i would bet it has megabass |
