I am using my brain. What i'm saying is look at the volume of the flash and the volume of the phone. Then imagine them added together. Of course the phone would be bigger but only slightly and seen as i would class it as small already it wouldn't matter. The power thing wouldn't be an issue cos it obviously can function using the phones battery as an attachment. That would mean a slightly bigger phone that functions better as its suppose to (i.e. Imaging) and no need for addons.

Do you have any idea of how a transformer works? Theres a vital size adn design it has to be to allow it to 'transform' the voltage. The size of prob means it wont have a space inside the phone without disrupting the entire design of the inside of the phone. A total rearangement. and the capacitor needed would have to be big. A series of smaller ones jsut wont give the 'power surge' needed for the flash.

BOOYAR, or whatever, please, be considerate and understand the concept of flashes before you go around saying : put them in, without understanding how they work and why sony ericsson hasnt put them in!

Ok ok i'm sorry. I admit i don't now about flashes and just thought why have an add on why not just add it on. I'm not cussing s,e for not putting one in. I was actually asking why they wouldn't and couldn't understand why it would need so much power and space when the flash accessory is so small. Also why should i go and research on transformers before posting when several people have asked questions which have already been covered in this thread without been slagged off. Anyway forget it. Sorry again

Hey, thats great of you BOOYAR.
I apologise for asking you to use your brain, but when you did actually put your mind to it its pretty impossible, but i am sure it will be quite possible in the near future!

Well, it probably will come with a wrist strap since SE are marketing it as a high spec camera. If it does not, its no great loss, you can buy wrist straps from any phone shop for very little money.
You can see in this picture (courtesy of turts link) where the wrist strap fits, at the bottom of the phone on the corner. See it ? below the camera shutter key.
Im sure SE will release a new S700 in the coming months, but it might be 9 months to a year away yet.
BTW, if you look at that picture, does anyone else think the phone wont balance very well when placed camera lens down. The camera shutter looks like a camel hump !

It does look like you could spin the phone around and really mess up that nice camera lens cover. |

Hopefully there's a scratch-proof material down there or something like that.
resistance is futile. |

I think the k700 is pretty scratch proof. I treat it like dirt and always chuck it down face up and the camera past has few scratches on. I agree with the hump analogy, very back heavy.

Scratch proof
My k700 has a new scratch everyday even if i dont use it. The build quality on it is terrible and it gets scratched wayy to easy and i always try my hardest to keep things as new as possible as i may want to sell it in the future. |
