About the playlist:
It is possible to make playlists...
And as a matter of fact--> it works great!
But its easy and the great part is that u can combine videos with mp3's in one list.
This is a function I never saw before on any of my phones. The player is easy to use, you can loop the songs and shuffle them. When you close the phone it automaticly minimizes the music/video player. So it continues to play! Even with videos, you cant watch the videos on the external screen but I like it alot that I can still hear them, this means you dont have to put songs double on your card(in Mp3 and 3gp format, cuz sometimes you want to checkout clips and other times you want to listen music when your phone is closed in your pocket/holster) So this is great functionality that I didnt see before. It is also possible to fast forword and rewind videos(also with mp3's ofcourse) and its is also possible when you close the phone to adjust the volume of the mp'3 thats playing(NOTE: with video's this is not possible, the volumes indicator just freezes--> maybe helped with SW update) and its possible to go to the next/previous song when the phone is closed...(all with the help of the + & - keys on the side of the phone)
Sur_G is very satisfied about the Multimedia player!!
As a Multimedia player I give the V800 an A- (lack of fullscreen video support & when phone is closed its not possbile to adjust toe volume when playing a VIDEO).
But im very happy about it.

Nobody cares here that the V800 with Vodafone is not posible to use MP3 others than the one sold by Vodafone as ringtones, that there is no photo ID on external display, and that again there is no mp3 sms ringtones only the 6 or 7 that SE puts as default? that for me is really a "not buyer item" |

You can play any mp3's as ringtones
You have to use Sony Ericsson's DRM Program |

The external screen can be helpful and great in a way.. than juz showing status etc etc.. maybe their reserving these features for future phones i guess.... anyways... V800 is really a powerful phones.. even tho its not a smartphone.. its great! |

O2,
I will probably sell my S700i and keep my K700i as my GSM phone and of course buy the V800. |

on vodafone.se you get the phone for free
24month contract and 199 SEK a month

Ok, so what do you think you´re really paying 199 SEK/month for? SIM-rental?
|
|
something like that
norwegian telenor has a 12 month contract with 299NOK/month. but then you get free sms, and just a few phones are branded.

Swisscom Vodafone launched the V800 today in Switzerland, with their 3G network. I was so curious that I went to a Swisscom Shop to see the "beast".
Well, I was disappointted. Although the phone looks professionnal, very nice stylish and balanced design, it is still a fat piece of technology, a very bulky phone, especially when it's opened. Looking on the pictures, I was thinking that the V800 was more tiny.
Moreover, the price is very very expensive here (500 CHF for a 24 months abo). I think that it's not time to go for it. In one year, they will have released a phone half the size, with twice capabilities and most important: unbranded software version. |

if u think V800 is very bulky... wad do u think of S700, P910i, Z1010 that must be super huge for you.. maybe u hv small hands..
actually modern phones now days are gettin bigger.. like the old times, as these modern phones are new. once they get old u'll get smaller high tech phones.... its like a cycle.. later on they will find a better technology 4-5G then its bcomes bigger again, but i expect it wud be smaller than todays modern phones.. and when it gets old, it bcomes smaller again... and so on and so forth.. |

Don't forget this
3G handsets are generally bigger than GSM handset.
You will find the V800 about average when you compare it with Samsung, Moookia, Sharp and LG.
Nokia will only release one 3G handset and this one is really a huge ugly lightbulb. 1.1cm wider and 0.7cm taller than V800 and just 0.3cm slimmer. *cough cough* |

there is a very real possibility that you'll see that more and more often in the future anyway. And since there is a work around for your own MP3's anyway, why make a big deal out of it?

Regarding that menu outside the V800 on the SE website, i think they just put cut and paste the picture.. Not really think it can be customise like that. ( unless user also snap this picture and put it on external screen.. hahaha ) !!
Most functions on V800 are simliar with S700i/K700, just bit difference on animation menus. And look at that orange balls.. awesome flash there.. |
