Same old, same old. Its anti-gun season again. All because of that new short-sighted PNP chief who's fond of knee jerk reactions. We'll just have to weather this storm

hello Doctabako!
just got back from the vacation, with G17. that was fun! but of course we missed you here.

pero ano ba yan ....kararating ko lang eh ano nanaman yang kabuysitan na nangyayari sa ating mga kasama sa gun enthusiast world! by scanning fast the past posts, did i get it right that the PTT will also be cancelled soon? so this will be a country of "free-to-carry-guns-for-criminals", but be "damn-you-if-you-are-law-abiding-there-simply-is-no-law-for-you"!

doc, can you please welcome me,and give me good news? hahahah!

Welcome back Boysaint and G17
Regarding PTT's, so far, only rifles are affected so rifle competitions are temporarily suspended.
They still issue PTT's for handguns and recent reports show that they don't have plans of stopping their issuance. Reports however are confusing as the PNP sometimes flipflops on their real position. Just hoping for the best.

hello Doc,
here's one of the units we used there in San Gabriel Outdoor Range, California. of course we didn't bring our own...thinking about the whole trouble, paperwork, explaining and all...we'd rather leave them home. so, here are our relatives' units that we used there. thank God they have nice ones.

eHunt,
barry pepper? the left-handed christan who use a bolt-action (looks like a springfield) in the movie "saving pvt ryan"? cool! the role fits them both, really. tommy lee jones' image as a cop or a senior law-enforcment guy from all his past movies (from "eyes of laura mars" down to "the hunted"), and the sniper image of pepper from "...ryan"! let's hope they have a good technical adviser on this movie.

Boysaint,
Yes Barry Pepper, I hope they get a very good combat/gun technical adviser. How's the "gun-enthusiast' utopia"? I bet you had a very nice time there.

Boysaint,
Nice Sig P226, one of the best out of the box... I once had an experience using one; nice DA trigger pull even without 'smithing.

eHunt,
that's a Sig P220 in .45acp (a lesser known P220 version is in 38-super. while a P226 is in 9mm). and it's double/single action.

well, yes, everything there in the gun-utopia place regarding our favorite hobby is very much tolerated, contrary to what we hear in the news. all the states there seem to have only one manner of rule. and it seems their 2nd amendment is intact. the silent majority rules...their gun rights is alive, and strong.

regarding a good gun technical advicer.... one of the best movie small detail i saw is the one from "man on fire" ....where Creasey (denzil washington) was holding a bullet which his Glock-34 didnt ignite when he attempted suicide. i gave attention to this scene and checked their primer... and to my surprise the primer dimple is from a real Glock firing pin! i am impressed! they didnt just dimple the primer! they even really used a Glock firing pin hit for the primer, for authenticity. to all Glock users ....you'll know what i mean, right?

Boysaint, that's really interesting. The P220 is quite rare here and i haven't seen one myself. Have you gone to one of the gunshows during your recent visit to the U.S.?

ehunt,
since the early eighties that we have been vacationing in the USA we never miss to visit and shoot at the range, or hunt. but we haven't visited a single gunshow, can you believe it! seems everytime we're there we miss the right scheds. it's mostly held in las vegas.

i see many Sig P220 here in our local gun shows....all versions: two-tone, all blued, all chromed, even the new railed version. i even saw a P245! nashe has a lot of them now. tho' i can almost hear doctabako commenting there. and i can't blame our good friend Doc over there, he has good reasons.

KakaiNashe talaga I haven't been to that store for a long, long time. Good thing I've stopped my gun binge or I could be forced to swallow my pride and deal with them again considering that they have a really nice selection of firearms. Can't say the same for their after sales service though

Maybe I should drop by MCS one of these days, maybe the popularity of the 9mm conditioned my mind that all the Sigs I see here are P226s and P228s. A friend told me that the best gunshow in the U.S. is the SHOTshow usually held at... yes ,Vegas. He showed me a picture of him where an anti-aircraft gun looms at the background. He was also fortunate enough to be at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot although he's from Florida, which is a long way from Kentucky where it was held. He said that for a price you can rent and shoot anything from subguns to .50cal mguns. A real treat for an enthusiast I might say. I'm a pocket pistol fan and its only now that big caliber babies are catching my itchy finger's attention.
