If they or....any company...could make the HMZ with wireless, comfortable, VR for games (PS4 please!!), 2 simultaneous hmz connections.....for around $500, it will be the biggest thing since "IPhone".

Can Sony make a profit already?
Last quarterly report, they were really in the red on all their consumer electronic divisions except Imaging.
Am I missing something?
A lot of other companies are making portable HMDs, but the quality of those devices can't touch Sonys. I guess we'll have to wait for further improvements in display technology and battery life to get the best of both worlds. I do wonder how long it'll be until we can have high end smart phones where the battery can last an entire week with medium usage...
Also just as a side note, I have to say w00h00! Upon opening this thread I got a notice in my browser that my ISP is upping my bandwith!!!! A year ago it was 25 mbps download, then they upped it to 32, and now it's going up to 45! At no additional cost! w00t!

Canada. Specifically Toronto. Rogers is my ISP and the interesting thing is that I only have the second highest package they offer to consumers!
Anyways, we're way off topic, lol. Go Sony phones! |

Official numbers are in. 8.8 million Xperia smartphones shipped in Q3.
So that puts Sony on no.3 or 4 for Q3

Time to celebrate folks !! Sony is worlds third largest smartphone vendor now after Samsung and Apple. In just one year of taking over SE, there is already a great improvement. Hope by 2015 they can take No.2 spot |

ZTE Named World’s 4th Biggest Smartphone Manufacturer:
30th October 2012, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (0763.Hong Kong /000063.Shenzhen), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, today announced that it climbed one position to become the 4th biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world during the third quarter of 2012, according to IDC, a leading provider of global ICT market research and advisory services.
The IDC report, Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, details that ZTE shipped 7.5 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2012, closely following RIM with only 0.1 percentage points between them. Number 5 in Q2, ZTE overcame HTC in the last quarter to rank in the global top four smartphone providers for the first time.
The IDC data showed that ZTE’s increased market share is due to continued international diversification efforts in Q3. Traditionally dependent on sales in China, ZTE has now achieved significant uptake in developed countries with 35 percent of its overall smartphone shipments being sold in leading international markets, especially North America.
