Just seen quite a few forums with people having new issues with the GS3. But most of them are from branded ones Vodafone & O2. Texts not sending calls and signal dropping some over heating and some with memory issues. Just teething problems I guess

Well ive not been around for a little while so this thread has moved on quite a distance. Heres my GS3 news after 17 days of ownership:
Original
Yep, got two of them.
Well not two, one is mine, the new one is my girlfriends who loved mine so much she decided to upgrade to get one.
After owning the phone so long now, apart from the obvious upsides heres some noticable downsides ive noticed:
- the phone does get HOT around where the SD card slot is. I assume the cpu is located under the casing here and gets hot when doing intensive multitasking.
- multitasking still isnt on par with Symbian imo. Ive used Android before and seen how the phone shuts apps down when it runs low on ram which is fine except if you're still using them, for example while waiting for a download to finish in a web browser i go to type a text, come back and find the download cancelled and the web browser shut down.
- thats its. Really cannot grumble about much else apart from predictive text, which is just as silly on any other device and not just with the S3.
Love the phone, i really do, by far better than anything before but still lacking in areas Nokia were and still are king imo.

Yeah mine got hot at the bottom too. But it never over heated at least. Mine had to be returned due to cannot afford it as been made redundant There was a browser bug I had though. Sometimes whilst typing when in the browser it would close and jump back to home screen.

Etaab- with regards to the heating issue my SGS2 heats up around the camera lens. I presume also that the CPU is located below there. You should spend the extra if you can and get the flip case/cover which is on the page just prior to this. Seems really nice and protective.
@Bonovox sorry to hear man. At least you got to use the hottest phone out right now. I can tell that you are not going back to windows or Nokia. A Sammy fan now if ever there was one.

Good to see you're enjoying the S3!
Yep, heating up is what comes with these multi-core phones and tablets, apparently the iPad3 is also pretty bad.
S2 heats up to the bottom left of the Camera, thats where its CPU is, but it doesn't get extreme.
Bono
So sorry to hear about that
Has it to do with all the financial issues in the Euro zone? Anyway, i hope you're able to find employment soon!

No. Job loss was due to another company getting security contract and there was no more work. Also UK is not in Euro currency but yes obviously in euro zone. Samsung though have made some bargain dual cores also like the Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Advance

Bono...don't forget to change that signature about the s3 . It is especially tough there in Europe more so on the continent but hopefully the UK and all of the EU pulls out soon. Its affecting us here in the Caribbean, less visitors less money.

Yes Spain is in trouble now. Samsung are on the up at least I forgot my signature. Somehow though phones don't seem to matter when you lose a job. But it killed me putting it back in it's box

Oh okay i see. Thought you maybe worked for a company owned by e.g. an Italian/Spanish etc... firm that may have had to cut jobs.
Enjoy the Xperia U, still a very good smartphone, especially with that NovaThor chip.

Yes it's smooth and fast dual core but the only annoying thing is although web pages load fast the scrolling and zooming is a little laggy. Especially in Face Book. But it's not that bad not as bad as the HTC One V. Makes a change the Sony is very reliable. Xperia U is really well built too. I would love the Xperia P though. Anyway back to topic.

Bono - I am teasing you about the phone but I know that it must be really tough being out of a job especially with the economy being in the dumps. Good luck on the job search.
I am going to be purchasing an sgs3 on behalf of my buddy soon. Don't know if I can justify getting one for me with my sgs2. The Mrs would crack my head open.

I know I got my family here anyway. As long as she don't crack your head with the GS3 By way the GS3 screen is very good at not attracting finger prints and they wipe off easy.
