The W902 is overpriced too. Should not be a penny more than 20k, with no wifi or gps to talk about. SE is driving me nuts :| |

Me wants but at the price they selling it for it seems like the earliest I'll be able to get my hands on this masterpiece would be around April next year.

Not only that, no metal finish/body, only 2.2" display and only a single loudspeaker speaker for the best walkman phone of 2008... Keeping this in mind, IMO it's ideal launch price should not have been more than 18k... Even 20k is too much... If it were to launch at 18k it would have had excellent sales...
The W595 is selling extremly well and it's all because of it's right price... W902 has the same potential but the price is just not right...

I just won the phone on Ebay and have some quick questions:
1. - Any noticeable lag with the 8GB card when browsing the music library, while card is full of music?
2. - Anyone tried 16GB M2 card? Do you think it will work? Any lag again?
3. - There are many different bluetooth stereo headsets from SE and I'm confused. I have this idea in my head that bluetooth lacks the speed to transfer high quality audio. Is this true? Can I expect crisp sound without any huge background noise or hiss and no dropouts? I saw THIS and I loved it. Can I expect good quality sound from it?
Thank you. |

Eldar has posted his take on the W902 out here.

If the music isn't all in one folder, it will be fine.
A 16GB card will work fine. As will the 32GB ones when they come out.
Bluetooth audio is fine too. The phone is now fast enough to be able to play video without losing frames or audio sync issues when using Bluetooth stereo audio.

Now Eldar's saying that the phone is actually quite likable and has no real disadvantages aside from price and positioning. But back then M-R said the phone should have been cancelled...and I don't see what kind of innovation from could have taken place to change his mind |

have to say I'm loving my w902. It reminds me so much of a w810i (my
all time fav phone) but bigger. It doesn't crash (like the w910, k850,
c902 that I had before) has good sound and good standby time.
I reject your reality and substitute my own. |

True true. I really like this phone, and it's fast and stable considering it's only the first firmware release. Sound quality is excellent. It's almost as well-built as the W810i (apart from the 1/2mm longitudinal movement of the battery cover - mine doesn't click when squeezed, as stated in that review) but slimmer. Good work from SE.

found my first "gripe". I can't copy files with the M2 in the phone via usb !!
If I use bluetooth - no probs, if I use the card reader from the box - no
probs but mpe or sepc suite will not allow files to be transferred. I keep
getting "not permitted" and "connection refused" !!!
Media manager allows file transfers though - which is really bizarre !
Not a real problem for me, just annoying. |

Recieved my W902 two days ago. It's a real beauty, love everything about it & my first impression of its audio was WOW! But when i transferred the supplied HPM-77 to my P990, the latter sounded better on the 'Rock' preset. So it really is the headset that's making it sound good. Thank God for the manual equalizer, I've found a setting which has saved it from total disgrace. Anyway, here's my wishlist of bugs/problems that SE can work on for the next firmware update:
1) Phone always freezes when switching from Auto to Twilight Landscape for the camera
2) Typing in opera mini is really slow when playing audio in the background and the display blinks around the text box. It also types funny when you type numbers with long presses.
3) Give us the option 2 save manual equalizer settings
4) Give us the '3G only' option in Mobile Networks because living where I am, 3G keeps switching back & forth to EDGE making the internet connection really slow and sometimes virtually no data is transferred for the longest time due to the frequent switching
5)Built-in browser too slow to be of any good for anything
6)It takes so long switching between videos when we choose continuous playback that by the time it switches, we'll miss the first 3-5 seconds of
the video because it would freeze that long
7)Auto-rotating video playbacks will result in them freezing before fast forwarding to catch up with the audio
And of course, you wouldn't be owning a W902 if the battery cover wasn't loose
Ok peeps, it's only been 2 days, but I will add on to the list upon any other discovery
