That's pretty obvious Nitro, isn't it

Anyone else getting this?
Amazing it happened to me for the first time this morning, for no apparent reason.
happened again yesterday. damn annoying as it was just sitting there on standby when it decided to restart itself, I wasn't even using it. This is one annoying bug coz its unreproducable, and renders your phone a timebomb for resetting itself randomly.
Does anyone find that if the phone crashes or resets itself that it will not dim the display fully, and will stay at a minimal brightness so that its visible? It can't dim the screen to fully off unless I restart it manually. |

Not really no, I have a lot of new SW on the phone and I am NOT the only one having the problem, But thanks for your help anyway.
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Well, for it to be a bug and to ask SE to correct it via FW, everyone should be able to reproduce it...its not the case...
It seems similar to some P990 cases, were some users reported things that did not happen to others, with the same firmware version

@Nitro
Well, what I understood fm your previous post is that your problem has almost simultaneously started with the installation of handy tools, while I presumed that it was the most recent installation.
If so, why don't u simply uninstall it, restart your phone and check ?

As you can see from the picture above, the new email received icon doesn't show on top of the screen when there is a new email in the inbox, and my display notification was checked to ON. I solved the problem by doing what I used to do with my Blackbery - a battery pull (Pull out battery while the phone is still on and keep it out for 30 seconds, then restart the phone). I have the new updated software R6E30.
I've had the same issue but only the once and it was rectified with a restart... Havent the problem reoccur though... |

One thing I've noticed on the new firmware is that when a text message reaches 203 characters (equivlent to sending 2 messages). The 204th character changes the message count to send it in 4 messages

Have u set your timezone and winter/summertime correctly? This is most probably the cause of the problem! |

Tried the camera now and seems to work fine, letting me select the resolutions. Will play with it more and unless it happens again will treat it as a bug in my head
That happens when you're zoomed in. The P1i uses digital zoom, and hence the quality automatically goes down the more you zoom in, leaving with you only VGA quality at full zoom.
Hope that clears the issue.... |

So? are there ANY improvements in the firmware since this thread started?
I wonder if sonyericsson learned from the p990-desaster...

-P1i does not detect as a removeable drive on a mac.
Looks more like a possible bug in MAC OS rather than in P1 since that function seem to work in Leopard (see link below).
P1i shows up for me on my mac, X.4.7.
My bugs:
- Night mode, and exposure settings in the camera don't work, i.e., they have no effect on the picture. They will show differences during preview, but after the picture is taken, its the same compared to pic without night mode and exposure.
- Green tint on right hand side of camera images. SUCKS!! If it was for the whole image, you could color correct that out in one step.
- Youtube streaming video media (and others) don't work on my phone. No clue why. In contact with SE on this one. (I'm referring to the mobile versions on m.youtube.com. I know there is no flash, so that's not what I'm referring to. This works for some users right out the box, and doesn't for others.)
- Apparently the phone can recognize h.264 codec, and play mp4 movies. mp4s made on mac using handbrake and h.264 codec don't work for me. Neither does the divx player and the xvid codec. Some movies made by other users do work, but they use PC software and I don't have a PC. (thank God for that.!! PC stands for piece of c***)
- List of emails, and sometimes RSS feeds scrolls back to the top after reading. That's stupid.
IMO, still a great phone the P1i, just buggy. Hopefully, SE will fix this. Why do they release so many phones instead of focusing on a few and making them really good??? They also have a bad marketing model by not using standards. No 3.5mm headphone jack, proprietary M2 memory stick, which is usually and unnecessarily more expensive, Fastport connector instead of switching and implementing the flexible mini USB connector. Minor things like this would prevent the end users from having to carry cables and converters with them all the time. I hate that about SE. There would be way more progress if companies stuck to established and working standards. Its great to do something new if there are advantages and a horizon of possible innovation, but when there are none, why inconvenience the user? As a musician if I want to play a track on a system somewhere, I have to buy/carry the bluetooth converter or a cable fastport adapter. And then the radio doesn't work when you use the bluetooth converter. Plain stupid!! Quite contrary to the principle of buying an all in one device. And then there's the .3gp video. What the heck. What's wrong with mp4? Its standard on everything nowadays and is capable of great quality.
That's my list of SE's bugs. and the first section is a list of SE P1i bugs.
Sorry, and thanks

..mp4 is just a container format, and the p1 can't play .mov for instance. (Or, you can with a media- player that supports quicktime, like coreplayer).

Yes, that's an irritating one. Apparently it's like that on everything except for the sms- listing.. Really classy..
If you have the time, please go to the Wiki and jot down some info on the bugs. If you want to second a bug- report already on the list, create a separate page where you can add your signature, like suggested in the main discussion page.

Hi all,
I’ve experienced one time a hang of my P1i, before of the updating to CXC162037 R9H004 (Phone), CXC162143 R1D (Bluetooth), CXC162108 R6E30 (Organiser), CDA162024/92 R4A (CDA) and after that didn’t happened. But now, I have automatic keylock activated and after I’ve finished a call (initiated by me) the keylock doesn’t work. I have to manual lock the keypad, and after that the keylock is automated again. At the next call the problem appears again. This is a bug, or a problem only with my phone?
Thank you.

Ok, so I had the email bug but a restart fixed it and I haven't got it since then. Then, my Opera crashed and I had to do a master reset + restore. Went smooth. Rss feeds scroll back. Have that, I don't mind that so much. One or 2 restarts in the last month and a half.
Long email text bug: it crashes after 10 rows...so I have to use the Word on Docs2Go and then copy - paste or attach it in order to send long texts. This annoys me.
But other than that, works great, I love it!

...strange thing. I haven't had any problem with writing long sms or e-mail at all. Maybe it's got something to do with the charset your localisation defaults to? It's the same thing with the sms- splitting bug - I never had that either, or the timestamp problem.
Imo, write SE about it (..and then change your firmware to WG, with a language addon ) |
