I fried it with Phoenix, I had to software versions didnt realise the one I was trying to upgrade the phone with was an ASIA file so the phone locked into boot mode. It then couldnt be revived under Dead USB this will require a service centre to sort out.
Oh well thats to activesync it took 5 mins to get all my contacts and emails back in the place they should be. I must say over the air syncing is good gone are the days of having to convert stuff man.
Now the question is do I try and flash it again could also have been that I was trying it through Parralles for OSX, I am not 100% sure about the USB transfer on that thing. |

i know have a cheap laptop with only phoenix an windows xp on it for flashing purposes and it works a charm!!! lol. Even for downgrading the firmware if need be!!! (have done ma mates N95 down to pre release firmware and then back to generic firmware (from voda firmware) and its worked ace since lol)...

Cheers mate, I did play around with it and got it to download the voice part and have now set it to uk English for voice, however I now have the option to start navigation but when I try to it asks me to pay for it or enter the licence code again? have you encountered this ?

For the WLAN code skip the letters and continue entering the numbers, when you get to the last number replace what ever amount of letters you skipped with ZERO. Send it via your gprs it might crash then it will send it via text. I noticed via wi-fi it took ages.

I'm a little confused as to what you mean as once you register on the Fring site they send you an SMS that you then click the link for and then it installs. So what exactly has failed to happen as it can take a while for the SMS to arrive depending on how busy they are.
Marc
Sorry Marc...
I went to Fring... said I had a N73...
I got my SMS.... which forwarded me to a download... which I did download...
and whilst installing... about three times it prompted to tell me it was not supported on your phone....but it still installed...
but I can not find it on my N95...

@smilethecheshirecat,
Well in that case you have done everything right and you need to go to the MY OWN folder and then add to your active stand by shortcuts for easy access. If it's not in that folder than maybe the reports that you can run it already are incorrect, Good Luck.

ok I've found something I'm not too happy with.
I'm heading home to Sydney at the end of the week and so I've setup my "world" time to Sydney time, which is fine.
It seems that you can change the main clock to the world time using the "set as current city" option but that then makes both the local time and the world time the same, i.e. Sydney!
On windows mobile devices it works a little better in that you specify a home place, and a visiting place and then just switch from one to the other with a single click in the clock screen.

It works for the 1st time, then stops, and if i restart the phone it will do the same, work for the 1st time then stop. Ill try and delete it and do it again.
Any solution for your problem yet? I experience the same problem, but it was working fine at the Lounge at Bangkok Airport last night....but not in my house in Thailand...and not in my home in Norway. (I am using Linksys WRT54G at both places) |
