@JiggyJaggy
build quality is superb, screen is better than M600, response is very snappy, but overall depth is a little more than I expected, one handed operation means not sure how often I would open the flip, with predictive text the small keys are not really an issue |

the battery in my P900 is actually a BST-15 1260mAH one so why does the P990i have a lower capacity one ?

Cheaper = lower price. Most P990 customers won't know the difference

Got my unit today at 9:12am DHL, my good old friend he knows me well all the phones I have had delivered the past 3 months.
1st thing I did was cleaned the screen and stuck my AG writeshield screen protector on and i must say this is the best fit screen protector I have ever used it was originaly for my TyTN but as I had a spare one I stuck it on. It fits so snugg on the P990 you don't see no gaps between the screen protector and the p990 screen fantastic. All I need now is a decent case for the unit what are you lot using? |

@masseur, Parcel Line tried to deliver my Voda TyTN yesterday but I was out so can't tell you how the P990 compares. But I must say I am impressed with the build quality and UI design seems more usable than the M600. The P990 does look like it should cost say £150/200 more than the M600.

Any Handy Safe experts out there? I need to transfer the info from Handy Safe desktop I used with my old P900 (now expired!) to my P990. On the old version of the Desktop software, you could import/export data, or even easier, just change the model of the phone you wanted to sync to (P800/900/910, Series 60/80, etc.).
The new version for P990 doesn't offer this option. I really hope it's possible, as being able to transfer all my data was a major factor in me sticking with SE!
Any ideas? Their website isn't too helpful, just telling you to copy the DAT & IND files from one phone to the other, but my old phone is dead... |

Mine has arrived. First impressions - very impressed. As Jah has said build quality is very good, and the device feels really nice in the hand.
I also have the same "photocopy" look manual as has been reported here and a standard CST-60 adapter.
First thing I noticed was the screen - it is much better than the M600i screen - the large size probably helps this perception though.
The scroll wheel is *so* much nicer than the M600i wheel.
I've got to say you probably wouldn't think the M600i and P990i share the same processor and other hardware - the P990i seems so much quicker and responsive - especially when using the scroll wheel in lists of files/sounds etc.
I've got to say so far the P990i has certainly given the wow factor that the TyTN didn't - it may also only be around 26g lighter than the TyTN, but the difference is noticeable.
I have to say so far out of the P990i and the TyTN the P990i is the winner for me although this could always change after have a good play with both devices today.
Here are a couple of comparison photos between the M600i, P990i and TyTN. Enjoy.
