In every test z1 beats hell out of this crappy Note 3.
Do we still have to read about the Sammy here..
I have enough of frustrated semi-users on this forum,
instead of useful info - trolling.
And BTW - if you really want, you can make a worse photo with EVERY phone,
really.
@Bonovox
Just let us know when you change the phone again.
I bet for December.

You people aren't grateful enough. I mean, things can get worse, so be grateful for what you have now.
I'm referring to a certain person's selfies of course, in which case the worst the quality of the shot, the better the quality of the picture.
Can't recall anyone sticking pictures taken by another phone in a different phones thread (unless for direct comparison). |

This thread is About Z1, that's true but someone who actually owned a Z1 has every right to show why he moved to another device. Further more, Bono also said that in low light the Z1 is better as his Note3. That doesn't sound like bashing to me.

Do you have to be so aggressive?? There's no need to swear. And as for selfies I posted one here as a joke for a bit of a laugh as it's a waterproof phone you guys need to lighten up a little bit. I posted NORMAL photos mostly and only one selfie as a joke. People often do comparisons on here and I was showing mine to what the Sony quality is. From now on i'll stay out of this thread of schizophrenic members who scream blue murder at the slightest things which dares to challenge Sony quality. Get a grip

With all due respect hihihans, posting only photos of note 3 on a Z1 only thread accompanied with previous posts like:
This is another piece junk from Sony it's going to be sold when I'm back in UK
Yes so you already repeated yourself again. Sony phones have always been buggy anyway.
Yeah am not going for another Sony again. Trading in tomorrow. And don't fret Sony fans am not going to be trolling here afterwards.
Much happier with my Note 3
Posts like those are flamebait posts and are unethical, to add to that, it has nothing to do with the thread discussion, it will only piss people off. It is indirectly one of those "my phone is better than yours check this out".
Do you see Z1 users posting photos taken with Z1 on a note 3 only thread and proceed to say Z1 takes better pics? NO because it will only start a never ending debate. It's like going to a Ferrari meetup with a Lamborghini and say my Lamborghini is better than your Ferrari. By doing that you are pretty much out of place and just asking for trouble.
@Bono
If you really want to compare, make another thread specifically for comparison, this isn't the place to post about your note 3.

I just got my Z1 a few days ago... So disappointed. The screen has a yellow tint and it looks dim. My Z's screen looks so much better. And Z1 is missing the white balance settings too, so I had to download a 3rd party app that does screen filter - it's still not as good. Feeling a bit let down right now. |

It would help if you can share a photo. I've been reading this thread since it started so I'm really interested to see how those yellow tint and dimness look like. The stocks we have in Malaysia have poor viewing angles (almost similar to the XZ) but don't have that yellow tint and dimness problem. |

sigh... why are all these newbies coming here complaining before they realize it's not the phone, it's them?
@zxcorr - i'm willing to bet the reason why your Z1 screen is so "dim" is because you have auto brightness enabled. why don't you disable that, turn it up to 100% and have another look, yea? and the yellow tint issue was fixed afaik in the latest firmware update. i originally used a screen adjuster (which worked beautifully) but the latest firmware update obviated its use so it got uninstalled.
@bono (yea i know you're still reading this) - first of all, snapshots in HD recording are 2mp on the Z1.. not 1mp. second, posting a series of note 3 photos on here without a single Z1 photo of the same thing to compare? really? and you wonder why other members think you're bashing the Z1. a few light comments vs. your long series of incessant bashing of the device AFTER you personally went ahead and did a manual flashing and made NO EFFORT to put the stock image back on or do a clean repair with sony software.
the first 2-3 weeks you had it, there was nothing but glowing praise coming from you, then you do a manual flash and all of a sudden it's all "buggy" and "rubbish" and experiencing issues NO ONE on this thread has experienced. that, my friend, is usually the result of user error.
@miromiro - of all the people who have experienced yellow tint, it's extremely difficult to get on camera. my Z1 had a slight yellow tint and i've taken many photos of my screen. did you notice anything? probably not. and to be very honest, there it wasn't noticeable in 99.9% of use. The only time I noticed was when I activated the screen adjuster app, which after the latest update, was no longer needed. if i were you, my biggest concern would be viewing angles (if that is a concern at all).. so try before you buy and return it if you don't. that simple I guess.

someone should let Sony know we need the screen cal back from the Z asap so maybe theres a chance that they can add that in the 4.3 update if it isn't in it already. |

^i wish there were advanced calibration settings on every phone - standard.
not sure why it's not? if you screw up your screen cause you messed with the calibration that's your own fault. but i'd love the option to do it myself.

Why you need screen calibration? On standard you get the best/real colours also b/w. I don't miss this option on the Z1.
I've never need it.
Sony could work on the status bar toggles, they have stupid background colour, hope they make all black / blank instead of this ugly grey. The rest is black, so they must fix it. They can improve so many things...

From what I can see so far, at least in terms of camera, the 1520 is better than both the note 3 and the z1 ... Personally I am very surprised that the 1520 has a decent cam, but it does.
The Z1 needs a lot of work on the processing side, but I think they might be able to fix it within 6 months or so. |

Personally, I really don't get why anyone wants to calibrate the screen, especially if the end goal is to get accurate color representation to perfection. Long story short, that is an impossible task for a smartphone due to the constant different environments one would be viewing the screen in. Long story long, the ideal viewing condition for any type of display is that there's no outside light hitting your display. Meaning the only light source is the display itself and preferably in a dark room with walls, if there's any, that does not reflect the lights from the display. Also, the display has to be calibrated for that viewing condition. Therefore, once there's an introduction of different sources of light and depending on their temperature, the color on the display will shift ever so slightly. Going back to smartphones, your colors will always be off and not the same in different environments. Now, a screen calibration app is only useful in my opinion if there's a problem similar to the tinting problem mention and is needed to mitigate such problems.
