I like the glossy frame of premium but don't like it glossy back

Maybe I have to put the matte protective film on it back then. |

Well eventhough I respect your choice, I think shine frames are too chiq for daily use. It might be ok for James Bond and his suit but I don't know it looks a little tacky. Like an Arab sheik's Gold plated car. |

Ah !! I forgot that I will use a bumper case anyway... so I could not see the frame

Now I don't know which one should I get between Z5 and Z5P. Not sure how good is the upscale features of Z5P. |

I will be buying the Premium in Chrome with dual-SIM as soon as it is available.

Then I'll probably palm it off to my wife and get the Ultra in March/April if it is truly coming. However, I have doubts and feel the Premium is supposed to fill the gap (although it's nearly an entire inch short in diagonal).

Anyway, I wonder what is new in design in 2016. I hope the first half tablets will be of matching design to the Z5. I would hate to not have a matching set.

AFAIK, from previous models ( Z3 specially ), Sony tends to prioritise Single SIM over Dual SIM regarding updates, If I'm not mistaken, Z3 Dual was few weeks (maybe 2 months) behind Z3 receiving both 5.0 and 5.1

I'm thinking about Dual also, but this update thing bothers me a little...

About colour, I thought about Chrome, but duo to fingerprint.. I might get the black.. but I'll choose which when I see it in person..

maybe a protective film will still make it like a mirror but much less fingerprint mess, even though Sony applied Anti-fingerprint coating to the phone.. but it seems not that much of effect it can do...

Don't get a dual model, I own the Z3 dual and I can tell you it doesn't receive updates as often as the regular Z3, While the Z3 single sim has the all clear apps option, my Z3 even on 5.0.2 does not. My Z3 tablet compact received the all clear apps in 5.0.2. My Z3 dual still has yet to receive the 5.1.1 update, doubt it will come any time soon, probably at least a month or 2 away I feel :/ |

Before Z3+, Z3 and Z3 dual has a different firmware, but since Z3+, they have unified the firmware.

For Z3 dual, firmware came around 1 month after Z3, but Z3+ dual firmware came around 2-3 days after Z3. I guess sony has finally realised the problem and fix!

@Xajel
I've got the Z3 dual and I can't say that having a couple of weeks or even a month difference for updates is a issue for me. Android is a pretty good system nowadays, things like Jelly Bean with Project Butter, they were big updates, nowadays updates are incremental and not really a big deal (to me).

To me (being an international man of mystery) the dual sim option is far more important.

As for colour: chrome with mirrored back is the most outrageous thing I've ever heard of. Not to be missed. I also liked that in the promo video they hint of the screen and the back mirroring reality with the 4K. Marketing magic I know, but I bought it and will buy it, just for the romance of the idea.

 2016 H1/H2 - 6 series? M6, T6, C6, Z6, Z6 Premium, Z6 Compact, Z6 Ultra, Z6 Tablet, Z6 Tablet Compact and Z6 Mini?

Z6 Mini ? Any evidence or vapourware ? Seems unlikely now that anything smaller than a "compact" would be released since there've been several compact generations now.

I didn't know about that if they fixed this or not, We need to check xda developers to see how things works now...

If it doesn't matter to you then it's okay, the only other different I know about Single and Dual is that the Single support LTE Downlink speed of 300mbps, while the Dual limits this to 150mbps LTE Downlink... which is not an issue in most countries I think as they never reach such speeds actually ( here we rarely reach over 90mbps )

EDIT: on xda, users are reporting that Dual SIM version of Z3+ doesn't support Quick Charging 2.0, while the single SIM support it

For colour, currently I'm with the black, but I'll put it for personal inspection for the last decision after all...

If the next Z Ultra rumours turn out to be true, then I'm there day one. It has quite literally everything I wanted out of my next phone... except the IR blaster

I do hope they are able to get the brightness levels of the Ultra up compared to the Premium for outdoor visibility. My current Ultra handles the outdoors pretty damned nicely as it is. Also hoping we'll see the rumoured design changes on the next Ultra. Also wouldn't mind the frosted glass backs.
