Hi guys unfortunately I haven't been able to check on this thread for a very long time and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about some stuff because I'm really interested in buying the Z1. Okay so here are my questions:
The screen lottery, Is it still active? Last time I heard they were supposed to be gone by November or correct me if I'm totally wrong here.
The screen, I know that the plastic shield on it scratches very easily and I really suck on this subject but as far as I know buying a tempered glass screen protector seems like the best way to deal with it, anyone know any good ones?
Another question regarding the same subject is can I apply that screen protector without removing the current one?
Lastly the camera, I believe that some people say that the Z1 has a very good camera but Sony is holding back on it, any updates regarding that? Anything that might come in the future?

@Krapster The Z1 is a superb peice of kit in which I would highly recommend the screen on mine is superb and I got mine on launch day easily match the HTC One in my opinion as regards to the screen lottery my advice would be to try before you buy if it concerns you that much. The camera I find is great however I'm a complete novice at best when it come to photography but check out my photos right here on Esato. Roumor has it there is a major camera update coming soon weather it will be 4.3 or 4.4 only time will tell. The rest of the phone is great aswell including the Walkman player to the battery life Sony's own UI is a joy to use and I'm sure many other Z1 users will agree.

Grow up I never said anything bad towards the Sony Z1 in my post & I have the right to comment where I like so stop being an idiot. And yes I love my Note 3. I comment in Nokia and other threads you don't have to own the phone to be able to comment so,please keep your narrow minded opinions about me to yourself. Oh & what's this about bitterness?? For goodness sake mate it's a phone

@krapster - i use illumishield. great customer service. cheap. quality control isn't the GREATEST after using them a bit, but if you let them know the issue, they are happy to send you out replacements for free. lifetime guarantee too, which is great. i'm happy with them for the price. there are more expensive ones but i haven't used them.
i agree with xperiajunkie .. z1 is a great device. i also ordered close to launch and my screen is wonderful. build quality is excellent, camera is one of the best i've seen on an android phone, if not THE best. overall the device is a dream to use. smooth as butter and very light weight in terms of sony's UI.

Just though I would show off my collection of Sony tech -
A 55 inch W9 TV, an original PSP, an original 60GB PS3, Xperia Tablet Z, QX10 Smart Lens, Xperia Z1, NFC wireless speaker, NFC wireless headphones and a set of wired headphones the photo was taken by an Xperia P aswell. Really should change my name to SonyJunkie lol.

Say what you want Z1 users, I'm not happy with the Z1.
The performance is a shame, have the Nexus 5 here, same CPU but it feels double time faster than the Z1...
And now believe me or not, my MEGA with just Dualcore beats the Z1 in normal using or surfing on web!!!
The Z1 & Z get many laggs during surfing, MEGA doesn't get any trouble.
I just don't understand that. Thought the S800 will repair all Z slow stuff, but it is also in many situations too slow and hanging. The performance could be better and better plus there are some bugs.
How can Sony put a lower led flash into Z1 than the Z had already very dark led???
Battery also bad for its size. 3100mAh according "service test menu". 700mAh more than the Z has, but almost same result. Very close! My maximum hours display time on on Z was 5,5h, with the Z1 just 1h longer. It's more than low with this fantastic specs, plus the S800 very efficient processor its should reach easy 8-10h display on.
The powerbutton is a big minus point, it is smaller and too hard in compare to the Z one. Also the volumerocker, now smaller and harder -> WTF?! Z much better keys!
The screenprotector annoying me from side, it has sharp edges, when I swype with my fingers from corner to corner I think I destroy the screenfoil...
My SD-Slot protector already lost this metal thing. Need to stick it again together with adhesive...
The ring of the 3,5mm jack is so stupid done, comes too much out, why is the ring not black like the phone colours (just look to Z Ultra). It flash eyes outside. Doesn't look good.
Pros over Z: Of course speed performance, a better loudspeaker, but still not perfect, screen looks more crispy, but has not so vivid colours like Z and viewing angles from my Z are better, but prefer ZOnes.
cons over Z: not so compact, heavier, old design look better, lower brightness led flash, bad side keys, battery needs longer recharging (at least 3h for same result)

@XperiaJunkie are you getting the PS4 then?? @Kingjames I don't agree to say the Sony is slow as it isn't I just didn't like the camera as much and the buggy software. But there is still much good about the Z1
