hi folks,
is the BB 9790 any good for casual use? no hardcore checking email every 3 secs or anything.
the BB 9900 is too fat for my tastes and Im not a fan of the BB torch either. already have a full touchscreen android
dont like any of the new SE phones, gone are those days.
I prefer the newer android phones like htc, samsung, motorola razr and the likes. |

happy new year guys.
@mrao, I don’t want to get a BB, more like I am forced to thanks to people who I need to keep in touch with use only BBM. so i ended up getting a 9790, have not received it yet. hope its good and not too big.
So whatever I spend on monthly sms i figure can be used to get a cheap BB plan. Will still keep my desire for everything else
the new moto razr looks real good.
anyone else think the new android phones are getting way too big? i dont really need a 4.7-5 inch screen phone lol, might as well get a tablet.

I see....you can use Whatsapp to keep in touch with BB friends...its cross platform....but nothing beats BBM....at least not yet.
Yup..the new Androids are getting bigger...but I think thats also in keeping with ICS ot Android 4.0...which is a touch only OS...The native ICS phones like the Galaxy Nexus have done away with all physical keys on the front of the phone...and the OS looks awesome if there is some extra screen real estate..

Hi mrao, i tried wassap. its a nice ap. only flaw atleast for me was that it automatically adds all my contacts from my phone into the wassap list. which means all the people at my work can contact me at anytime which i did not want. i do not like walking around with 2 phones either.
another thing is data packages are still very expensive here, approx Rs 1,800 for a 1gb 3G data plan on pre paid.
im not really liking the BB though, bbm is great but the phone is pretty basic even when compared to much older android phones. oh well, will live it it for a while i guess.

sanny boy...after whatsapp has generaed your contact list, you can always block the ones you dont want pinging you...plus if you dont like the bb..get rid if it and get a galaxy S2 ..or the galaxy nexus...
btw..you still in canada?
