Guys, I played with knoppix, a Linux distro, on Saturday and fell in love! Great interface. Awesome peripheral detection and compatibility.

XP requires me to install SP2 in order to install drivers for my 9500. Not knoppix. I connected and was good to go.

Windows requires installation of CD software to be able to use Bluesoleil bluetooth dongle. Not Linux. I plugged it in and activated it right off.

Plus I get about 4 browsers, Open Office (word, spreadsheet etc compatible).

I am exploring the possibilities of running linux on my laptop now

Na wa o! Just 2 posts... in a day. AYA must be on hols.

I saw a new "East African" thread.... let's go encourage them... I also didn't see much support from you Guys when SA celebrated their first anniversary. Make una no yab o! E never late.

@AYA can U give me the full url to that page where U described the steps to using ur phone as a modem? I hope it opens via wap. My inbox is filled with requests @prodigits. I want to put the url in my wap site and just refer ppl there. I will check later tonite.

@All... Glo GPRS in Ilorin is good inside the main town but very lousy in the GRA where I am staying.

Typical of our GSM networks: put enough base stations for the Governor and Traditional ruler to "enjoy" and declare that U have COVERED the state. Meanwhile... service is terrible. Thats why I thank God I live in Abuja where the movers-and-shakers are. Yes o!

Ok, I can send the here, but to what? There has to be a page where the whole thing is discussed.

And most of them (prodigiters) really need to be walked through gently. I will rather wait for AYA's link.

And I must seat down one of these days and complete my comprehensive step-by-step guide. All my travelling....

Linux? Na wa o! We go adopt "siddon look" attitude first.

Hmmm! Another dry spell...well no better time to drop a joke:

Little Bruce and Jenny are only 10 years old, but they just know that they are in love. One day they decide that they want to get married, so Bruce goes to Jenny's father to ask him for her hand. BRUCE bravely walks up to him and says "Mr. Smith, me and Jenny are in love and I want to ask you for her hand in marriage."

Thinking that this was just the cutest thing, Mr. Smith replies, "Well Bruce, you are only 10. Where will you two live?"

Without even taking a moment to think about it, Bruce replies "In Jenny's room. It's bigger than mine and we can both fit there nicely."

Still thinking this is just adorable, Mr. Smith says with a huge grin, "Okay then how will you live? You're not old enough to get a job. You'll need to support Jenny."

Again, Bruce instantly replies, "Our allowance.. Jenny makes 5 bucks a week and I make 10 bucks a week. That's about 60 bucks a month and that should do us just fine."

By this time Mr. Smith is a little shocked that Bruce has put so much thought into this. He thinks for a moment trying to come up with something that Bruce won't have an answer to. After a second, Mr. Smith says, "Well Bruce, it seems like you have got everything all figured out. I just have one more question for you. What will you do if the two of you should have little ones of your own?"

Bruce just shrugs his shoulders and says "Well, we've been lucky so far..."

Now this is amusing:

God softens football hardman

A Croatian football star says his team are losing matches because he can no longer commit fouls since finding God.

Hajduk Split defender Goran Granic has come in for a storm of criticism for abandoning his trademark hard tackles on opponents.

But Granic has now revealed his Catholicism is behind his softer style of play.

He told daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija: "I'm so devoted to God now that I have started to avoid committing fouls during matches.

"God has created football for fun and relaxation. He would not like players to commit harsh fouls."

He added: "I could probably have saved some key goals during the season, including in the Champions League qualifying games, if I had committed fouls to stop players scoring."
