Do any of you guys get a wireless streaming symbol over the screen whilst watching a video on youtube but streaming to bluetooth headphones? I do on my Z and it's dead annoying.

Which firmware for the Z1 is this?

14.1.C.0.467_9_f310

is it specific for the Japanese Z1?

@king-james - mine doesn't feel incredibly hot anymore even when playing games for awhile or watching videos. yes it does get warm but not crazy hot. i've never had a Z to compare though. but it is definitely not anywhere to the level that I would ever worry. my macbook power adapter gets much, MUCH hotter for example.

@goldenface - no idea what you're talking about so I'm gonna go with no.

@xperiajunkie - what feature are you referring to? i don't think i've ever even tried doing that..

@moogoo when you record a video you can take still photos at the same time by pressing the on screen shutter key. As you will see the maximum resolution of the still is only 1MP last years HTC One X could do the same but with full resolution stills (8MP I think). Give it a try let me know if you find out how to use it.

@xperiajunkie - so i gave it a try. it just takes a frame from the 1080p video stream so the snapshot is actually 1080p resolution, which is about 2mp, not 1mp. 8mp would be 4K UHD (4 times 1080p resolution or 2mp * 4 = 8mp).

I think this is an EASY way to get a snapshot. I'm unsure how other companies would produce a higher resolution snapshot from a video stream unless it's a 4K stream, which as we know, only the note 3 has right now. Do they record everything as 8mp resolution then downgrade to 1080p to be encoded to video on the fly? Like I said, i don't know as i'm not too knowledgeable about the particulars of it.

I see where your coming from with it just being technically a screen shot just can't get my head around the HTC one X from last year with a Tegra 3 chip can record video @ 1080p and capture stills at 8MP resolution and the Z1 with a Snapdragon 800 can only manage a 2MP while recording @1080p

i think it's just a matter of implementation..

sony chose to just let you take a frame from the video where HTC chose to do something a lil different and let you snap a full res photo. i've never tried a One X, so unsure if there is a stutter or interruption in the video if a snapshot is taken but there is basically zero pause when doing it on the Z1.

i don't think it's a commonly used feature, though I could be wrong. i know i don't use it

@goldenface yes, i get that symbol sometimes when i'm connected to bluetooth device...unfortunately after googling this watermark, i found out that google thinks that you are streaming if you are connected to bluetooth...so , turning off bluetooth got rid of this watermark...lots of people are having this problem over at xda...

wow somebody here just can't let go of his xperia z1 memories. after moving to a new device, he still frequents the z1 thread. amazing how some people find it really hard to forget the z1.

is it utter bitterness or somebody just got paid a la taiwanese sammy trolls attacking HtC (unlikely)? or what could be the reason?

interesting to know if those who moved away from a galaxy device are doing the same....
he seems to be more interested in the z1 than in the N3 based on his forum activity. he has more visits to z1 and other topics than to N3 threads on esato...

^^yea who cares. he has every right to visit whatever topic he wants. as long as he's adding to them and not trashing them, that's all that matters.

back on topic..

so how's everyone's Z1 holding up to everyday use/abuse? I haven't really dropped my phone or anything but even with lots of in and out of the pocket and handling, there seems to be no scratches whatsoever on the aluminum frame, which was my biggest concern when I first got it. in fact, if not for the slight bit of dust build up around my screen protector that I put on over the shatterproof sheet, it looks brand spanking new!

it's beautiful and i love it.

also, there was yet another album app update recently but poking around, I did not see anything new feature wise. anybody else notice anything?

@moogoo glad your loving your Z1 it is a brilliant phone and I would'nt swap it for any other phone out there it works superb with my W9 TV, my Tablet Z and the QX10 Smart Lens I have. I love the build quality, I dropped mine down some stairs when I first got it and not even a scratch it was brown pants time when I done it but was made up when the phone turn on ans was as good as the day I got it.
