In regards to the question about a hardware button to change the screen orientation, checkout this vid at about 16:20!

I´m not sure if it is preconfigured or you can map it yourself... but good to know that there seems to be a dedicated orientation change button!
It looks like he pressed one of the buttons on the front panel, not a side button. Either way, it's good we can change orientation without opening the keyboard. |

Just phoned SonyEricsson on 01628 539978 (UK).
He said that the X1 will only be launched in the first or second week of October !
They have no pricing but he guesses it'll be around the £500 mark for sim-free.
Hmm

It's great to have a dedicated button, however WM phones with non-square screens have had the rotation feature for ages (usually via an icon on the touchscreen).

Dont think they will have it as its really a CPW store with SE branding... Sure someone said that CPW were expecting it in a month or two... Same would be true of the SE online store I reckon...
Expansys and the like will be the first with it... |

Price level in Finland Sim free is around 690-799 euro (incl 22% VAT). Don't know if this helps you guys in the UK.

Here in Germany the cheapest prices I can find are under 600 Eur. incl. taxes and everything!
On contract I seems not to be much higher priced than other premium HTC smarties! |

Well HTC touch diamond is about 500 eur here. So the Xperia should be more expensive than that in my country when it gets there...
