@Siosal: In principle the application is free but the only cost is normal GPRS costs( very minimal since it's soo cheap) and the cost of sending an sms to the UK number. It delivers all the top headlines to your phone with pictures...Navigation through the stories is a bit difficult as my joystick is acting up.

@dr_thug: I don't know whether we're crazy about cricket but this last game was just downright boring, especially the SA innings...Kallis was again playing the role of the "Rock"...no need for any pyrotechnics, just a solid technique and you've got the better of your opponents.

I caught bits of the game this morning at the gym and when I saw the total I was quite confident that SA could reach it because of our strong batting and Ajit Agarkar...I dunno why but this guy doesn't have batsmen shaking in their boots- he's basically a cow being milked for runs.

@786KBR: Ich niet verstaan? How can you support India when you've( I assume) never lived there and don't speak their language? Is it because there aren't any Indian-South Africans playing in the current side? Or do you just feel that Indian cricket is more superior than anything else on this planet?

I couldn't care for England, the convicts, or any other nation for that matter...I'm South African I support all South African teams (ok, lets make an exception for the Springboks...the politics at SARFU is too dubious for my liking).

Lance Klusener didn't play "text-book" cricket neither does Justin Kemp...both of them are like jazz players- they improvise.

Me thinks the fanatical Indian supporters were a bit shell-shocked by this loss after playing woeful Sri Lankan team.

BTW, got to play with the D600 this morning...Initial impressions were that the casing was a bit plasticky i.e it feels like it could easily break or scratch...the camera lensesis also not covered. The display looked brilliant, not much of a departure from the D500. I still wouldn't buy it even If I won the lotto tonight.

*brix25 goes into a corner and silently meditates to the higher powers for some good fortune in winning that elusive lottery*

If these buggers answer me I'll immediately buy the W900i and P990i

Why couldn't they just call it a D550...At the rate Samsung are releasing phones they'll run out of letters and numbersin a couple of years which will leave new buyers confused.

So apart from the 2mp cam, memory card and TV-Out support, what are the differences between the D500 and the D600?

i am not a hard core cricket fan as some of my friends...they r so into it that they can een tell u how much sachin tendulkar scored in a specific match that took pplace 10 years back.
some even mimic the comentators(they remember wat the comentators said)...
the day after any Indian match, the next day will be a big discussion about it in school, colleges and offices.
due to cricket, all other sports r virtually dead in india.

now dont u both start fighting over supporting cricket teams.

We just suffered another city-wide power blackout...luckily though it only lasted 10 minutes.
@dr_thug: We don't fight about cricket here...it's all about love and peace, there's way more important things worth bitching about.

rofpmpl @ Brix! *Ye cannae win, laddie, sayeth the Deity of the Lotto™... Nay, forsooth, verily it shall be won by The Chosen One®... *

@DrThug, at my workplace i've a colleague who's cricket-crazy, and the behaviour you mention (analysis of past games down to the brand of underwear worn by players, etc) sounds exactly like my colleague!

ps @Brix, did you know the Lotto Deity was Scottish? Just found out myself...

pps Brix, i'm not sure, but i think you can get Reuters to mail the headlines, breaking news, etc directly to you as well. Will check it out when i finish these few scripts. 240 to be exact It's times like these when i tell myself i should've followed my instincts and become a male stripper

Jy gaan wen, my ma se kind!

Interesting topic came up earlier while exchanging PMs with Clarence, my Singaporean buddy. I mentioned that i'd dearly love to buy a new car to replace my 88 jalopy, preferably the same make and model, but that it would take at least my entire gross salary for a year to do so. His reply was that the same applied in Singapore, except that the government there had implemented a measure to reduce the number of cars on the road by making it compulsory to acquire a Certificate of Entitlement before one could buy a car. The cost of said Certificate... Wait for it....

ONE YEAR'S SALARY!!! Mind-blowing, to say the very least... Makes me wish we had a public transport system half as efficient as theirs...

I'm not going to talk about cars cause I don't own one and don't plan buying one soon.
Right now I'm chilling by my lonesome at the weekly karaoke evening at one of my favourite bars/restaurants on Long Street.

I see that etv is in hot water with Parliament because of their failure to attend a hearing on pornography... Seems like the State is finally waking up and realizing how harmful those advertisements are...
