The only reason i can think is so that you have to give them revenue for your phone calls. Even T-Mobile unless you get the higher Web N Walk tariffs don't allow VOIP which is why i only use Fring over WiFi.
Having said the above Fring are working on adding the N95 to there supported devices so you may not actually need the Sip client as apparently it is not that easy to configure. Unlike Fring where you receive a SMS log in and are good to go which is as easy as it could possibly be.

Yes... I believe they maybe worried about lost revenue too
I have read about Fring... never used it before... but i have watched the demo on their sites... looks very impressive....

Hi Voda-Jon,
Well that's good news for N95 users then no need to wait and that defeats the whole object of the darn Networks messing with your phone.
I do actually think with the proliferation of WiFi Hot spots with either cheap access or even free it is going to pose a threat to the traditional networks. I'm not saying they are going to go bust but there International call revenue could reduce significantly.
As a BT Broadband customer i get 250 free WiFi Hot spot minutes a month obviously at BT Hot spots. There is something every so nice about making either free Skype to Skype calls or even very cheap Skype Out International calls from a mobile phone or is that just me and I'm sad. LOL.

I want my N95!
Bloody t-mobile wont let me upgrade till next month - wont give PAC code either, long story! Furious with them!
Was going to get it o2 with £35 or 40 p/m plus data 36MB (14.50 on top), but their sold out, plus just found out new tariffs out on the 28th April: something along the lines of £10 p/m for 20mb or £20 for 78MB!!!!
Damn, why cant they give me one now! Not due an upgrade till Christmas with o2 direct....
Voda have a great price of £40 for 6 months, then £20 for the next 6, with the phone free, but no good data plans = no use for me! I have too many mins and text already Voda upgrade for me aint till July, so i've reverted that to £20p/m and will pay that off once i find one of another network.
CPW wont let me get a decent price on upgrade (got an o2 contract with them), plus wont give extra incentives like t-mobile, o2 etc.... Also, i think i've read this already, but do CPW now offer t-mobile branded phones (sorry if this has been answered already - i look like a newbie )?
P.S: by the sounds of things, it looks like i have more sims than phones to use with..... Anyone know the best price plan orange have (never had a contract with them), unlimited texts sounds good, but data wise, can they offer anything special - thinking along the lines of £40 p/m - dont need BB)
Cant fork out £400-500 sim free for it, spent over £2k in the last two months.... need it subsidised Didnt mean for the post to be so long.

i do noticed such bugs too, however on e60. donnow whats the reason, why certain apps are shown as supported, even those wont run. there is a menu, where u can allowe to let install all kind of apps, not just trusted once, imo n95 has got it as well

I'm a little confused as to what you mean as once you register on the Fring site they send you an SMS that you then click the link for and then it installs. So what exactly has failed to happen as it can take a while for the SMS to arrive depending on how busy they are.
