I haven't visited this forum for two days due to mtn gprs failure, but it seems I didn't miss much. Does this imply that a majority of posters here use mtn?

Yeah Angel I got the mms, thanks, but it aint Christmas yet.
MTN mms is back, but I don't know if its better.
Billing on MTN gprs is erratic, sometimes I am billed and sometimes I'm not. It suits me fine though, I've saved a bundle since my glo line has been on holidays.

Good. let's start with installing your phone as a modem.
1. Activate infra-red on the phone and point it at your PC's infrared port
2. If your OS is XP, your PC will recognize a new hardware and proceed to install the modems. You may need to insert the CD that came with it, but its not always required.
If you use an older OS, after pointing your phone IrDA at PC, go to ControlPanel -> Phone/Modem Options-> Add/New
Look at the list presented, if your phone IrDA is listed, select it. If not, insert phone software CD and click "Have CD". Browse to where the modem ison the Cd and select.
In some cases, you can only install the modem directly from CD (auto-install).
3. When modeminstallation iscomplete, go to Controlpanel->Network Connections (or Dial-up Connect Wizard) -> New connection -> Manual setup. The rest is fairly easy. you need APN, username, password, dialup number (*99***x#, where x is your CID). If you cant find your CID on the phone, just try from 1 to infinity one after the other till you are able to connect
Hope I didn't leave anything out |

Yes it seems so, because you are the only one who has been able to modify your wap settings to enable you web access using vmobile.
The rest of us have resigned our fate to mtn. No mtn hasn't announced tariffs yet.

@mamba: Nope. You are not the only person using vmobile GPRS here. I use my wife's line/phone to browse as well - especially when I want to cut down on Glodirect bills. I'm not bothered about MTN. When they are ready, they will announce their tariffs.
