I have just got myself a Z1... So far, so good... Infact I am loving it.
I have a question, though. It may seem stupid.
I know the phone is waterproof but, am I able to use this in the shower? For listening to music, etc.
Steam may be a different factor to actual water, I just don't want to ruin my phone by getting 'steam' in it. If that makes any sense?

I use mine in the shower all the time and have had no issues at all however sometimes the audio can go quiet or get muffled but this is normal and nothing to worry about I have used mine for music, calls, text and watching YouTube videos all while my phone is dripping wet.

@XperiaJunkie thanks very much for the reply! Just a weird feeling, dropping my phone in water and stuff.. Takes a while to get used to the fact you can actually do it! Ha ha!

@drsoran. Don't worry, it seems your drivers got confused. The reboot cured it.

Hi guys,
I didn't use my phone for calling for about 10 days and today I used it again and my Z1's microphone didn't work! It was working the last time I had called someone so I figured it must be other person's phone. However, when another person called me, it also didn't work. I then went into the service menu and tested the microphone there and it didn't work also...
this happened with my XS and a reboot cured it. it has something to do with sony's smartconnect service getting confused. i haven't had the problem on my Z1 yet and i use the smartconnect service often. so it seems like a rare occurrence.

Got my purple Z1 last Saturday. And to be honest, mobile data is a bummer when it comes to battery life. It's horrible to say my Z1 only lasts 6-8 hours with HSPA+ on. And it's worse if you are using LTE connection.
And who would have thought this phone would include a gas stove at the back of the phone, just joking
joking. Silly aside, it's getting hotter and hotter really. I just can't root it for now and I remember one suggestion here that to underclock the CPU to 1-1.5 GHz. I don't know what to do.
While I'm typing this post, my battery went down for 3 percent lower. |

try low battery mode maybe, I am not 100% sure what that does but the phone still runs super smooth. If it does indeed disable a few cores. |

@rency - not sure what you mean by 6-8 hours on H+? are you downloading something constantly? Do you just have it on and standby is only 6-8 hours?
to be honest, Z1 did get quite hot for me when I first got it. I was shocked cause i've never had a phone that got that hot before. but either i got used to it or it simply doesn't get that hot anymore. it does get warm, but definitely not as hot. it doesn't seem logical, but it somehow "settled" in and doesn't get as hot now? weird i know. see how it fares for you in a week or two.
battery life has been great for me and my phone is on LTE constantly since i have unlimited data, i don't even bother with wifi. ha. i use it farely often with text messages throughout the day and hourly twitter refreshes and autosync for email, contacts, music, pictures, always on. bluetooth with my smartwatch too. and even with no stamina mode, i easily get a full day or more.
definitely give it some time to settle in. try the stamina mode too.

I just found a potential bug..
Can someone else confirm?
I have a lot of text messages with a lot of different people. Today, I tried to delete 10 conversations at once, each one fairly large.. a few hundred messages minimum. I tried 3 times but the conversations did not disappear! I tapped on one that should have been deleted, and it took some time to open the conversation, but eventually it did open.
After returning to the main conversation screen, all the deleted conversations were now gone like they should have been. Weird.
Obviously it's not a critical bug, but a bug nonetheless.. that is, if someone can confirm. Could just be a fluke one time occurrence for me. I guess I'll find out after I generate more texts and try to clean it up in the future...
