I just received my Xperia Z. As I'm in the same position as Rubenkroes I can't discuss rumours anymore, but I do have permission to show off the handset and answer any questions about it. I'm on the train back home now, but if you have any questions (including that one about the themes effect on the whole UI), ask them and I'll get back to them later this evening or tomorrow. Preferably in the Xperia Z-topic.
And just, you know, for proof

i feel stamina mode is an overheating protection too, they just call it in different name, the fact you save battery life is a plus, lol

If they have to throttle for overheating protection, what is the point of using the quad core s4 pro chips. I think quad core is a waste as it is, I'd rather have the 1.7ghz dual core than the 1.5ghz quad. It's a shame that (supposedly) dogo has the quad and huashan has the dual and not the reverse. 1.7ghz dual + 2gb ram + waterproof would be amazing. |

Can't agree more. Plus no FullHD resolution. Don't need it in phone. With this specs there should be a nice battery runtime possible, too. |

I don't. But it has to be at the right time. A FullHD display of course is a nice thing. But when the device will overheat and will consume too much battery then the technological evolution isn't far enough for this step. |

Devices don't evolve, i don't get it why people use the term evolution? |

Don't know either
Let's say technological progress. |

Technology does evolve. With each iteration some new features come, some are carried forward, some are left behind.
Just like the biological evolution in genetics.
The differences are that instead of advantages for finding food and increased reproduction, the features are decided by buyers like everyone here, and features aren't passed through reproduction but through hardware designers' imaginations.
Evolution is the correct term.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

I couldn't agree more. The specs race is totally useless, It doesn't make sense a Full HD on a 5" display and eight core processors to play angry birds and facebook.

Well, I think octa-core is useless for OSs like Android. It is really hard to optimize the software with the cpu due to fragmentation. But with iOS, it would be interesting.
Anyway, what I am actually looking for a smartphone right now are great screen, big battery and compact design with waterproof. Xperia Z could have been a lot better with Whitemagic Display. In video reviews of it on youtube.com, Xperia Z's screen appears to be washed out due to its limited viewing angles worsen by the angle from which the camcorder is being held at. WhiteMagic can actually compete with contrast and viewing angles of OLED screen by Samsung and Nokia. Plus, the Xperia Z's front looks a bit boring and bested by Xperia ZL. But overall it looks sexy and exquisite. And the battery, I guess it is too much to ask a beefier battery for XZ with its thickness.
Anyway, why Sony did not have a commercial for Xperia Z/ZL in Superbowl. I mean, these two phones are the best devices they have made since for a long time. They should have showcased this in the US and I know it would capture the attention of the viewers.
One more thing, I really hope Sony kills the name Xperia Z and replaced it with Clie series.Clie sounds better than Xperia. |
