nothing wrong with Z1.... Some people can have bad luck and get awful packed phones.....I can feel old, frustrated and out of luck any day.....but not with Z1....

nice video. but a bit overkill i think? the phone's mic (at least the Z1's) seems to do a pretty damn good job on its own. the external flash is nice, but the cage seems much larger than it needs to be.
in any case, i'm sure it could be easily modified for personal preferences. a great idea nonetheless. i wish she went more into the smartphone clip.. as it looks like a nice one and doesn't block any of the essential buttons! (power/volume)

As I've said before, I wonder how can people find fault of the Z1. I couldn't find any single fault with it. Its the most premium feel smartphone, the design is beautiful (this is subjective though), the camera is great (IMO the best among android phones), the UI speed is great (I couldn't make the phone lag) and the battery life is so great ( I wonder is there any smartphone that can beat Z1 battery life).
This is my battery life (light to moderate usage). (All settings are `ON' i.e. wifi/3G, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, auto brightness) includes camera usage, internet browsing, video, whatsapp, facebooking, smartwatch connection. After more than 1 day, I have 58% of battery left !!!
I think the battery is damn good.

@moogoo yes it was with stamina mode off..
the only thing that i hate about this phone is the anti-shatter sheet, i can't understand how i got small scratch on it, when the phone is always inside a sleeve?! peff..

I don't know what is impressive there... My Z can beat this easy.
2 days using, 5,5h display on, 11h WiFi on...
My record was 5 days using with 4,5h display on.

yeah you were using wifi, while i was using H+, you were using stamina mode, while i haven't, my device is not rooted, and my auto sync is on!
so stop saying its not impressive! my old galaxy s can handle just 1.5 hour of screen time on!
so yes 5 hours is darn impressive. |

@sponse haha yea that antishatter sheet is shit. that's why i put a screen protector over it. i'd rip off the sheet but i'd miss my sony logo! i've always had a screen protector over it so i've never had a scratch to begin with, thankfully. since you have a scratch you have a choice of removing it, but you'd lose the logo, which is a HUGE fail by Sony.
@king-james - can't compare to myP910 unless he had posted his 1 day+ battery life and it was at 2% like you. he's still at 56%, which means there's potential to get to the 2 day+ mark just like you. if not more. Personally, I've gotten 2 days and 12 hours out of mine before.. with 6 hours of screen time and everything on AND always on LTE (never wifi), which is a big battery drain
if you're talkin bout sponse then he didn't use stamina..

Guys, little off topic, but when i turn nfc on, the nfc icon doesn't show in the status bar, like on MyP910 screenshot? Is that pretty common? |

@sponse
hahaha, where you can see that I've only used WiFi?!?
FYI Staminamod doesn't give me extra energy, I don't use it anymore. Have tested a lot. No difference, cause I know what to need turn off and on...
You talk about a Galaxy S? Damn this phone is over 3 years old. How you can compare it with the Z1. Shame on you.
My Mega with 6.3" screen reach about 8-9h display on, with only 3200mAh, this is impressive!!!
I'm sure even the Note III beat the Z1 easy. According to GSMarena. YES!!! Very clear!
It's a shame that Sony has so bad batteries. All other brands get better results with same battery size...
Z1 5" with 3000mAh vs N3 5,7" with 3200mAh -> Z1 should beat N3 so clearly, but no, it fail!!!
And I better don't start with the LG G2...
@moogoo
You are wrong, he has only 1% left, check page before.
Staminamod is just for noob people, who don't know how a phone works. I'm not a idiot who goes out from the house and let WiFi for example allday on...

@king-james - you should read better. i said myp910 had 56%. and if you are comparing to sponse, you had stamina mode on, and he DID NOT. that's a huge difference.
and don't post that GSMArena battery test crap here. it's not an accurate test by any means and has been proven so many times by actual users.

Hi guys,
I didn't use my phone for calling for about 10 days and today I used it again and my Z1's microphone didn't work! It was working the last time I had called someone so I figured it must be other person's phone. However, when another person called me, it also didn't work. I then went into the service menu and tested the microphone there and it didn't work also...
I was really frustated and already digged into my spare phone archive and was going to decide if I have to use my old K850i for calling or my Samsung clamshell when I decided to make a reboot. Luckily, it worked again after the reboot, both in service menu and in calls.
I hope it stays this way and it was only a one of a kind failure.
My question now is: Did anyone else have this before and it worked again after reboot or did it come back?
If this should happen again, I will be forced to send it in for warranty as this is clearly a warranty case and the phone was only bought in September!
P.S.: This was the first time that this happened with any of my phones in the last 12 years! |

regarding the battery life!!!
its not that Sony has crap batteries...on the contrary....they have some of the best talk and standby times! perfect if you use your phone as a phone! the thing which actually drains the battery is their screens! They always perform poorly on web browsing and video battery life! That is why they don't get a great Endurance rating on GSMArena as it takes all that into account, it does not necessarily mimic how everyone would regularly use their phone!
Sony really need to improve on their screens especially in terms of efficiency, and I believe for that AMOLED is the best hence the advantage Samsung have there |
