So does that mean that we won't be able use the P990 as a radio when hooked up to the portable speaker sets that SE offers (MDS-70, MDS-60, MPS-60)? |

The MDS-60 seems to have a FM atenna in its mains cable....

All 3 SE speaker systems, MPS-60, MDS-60 and MDS-70 comes with built in "antenna" and hence the Radio functions should work out of the box |

@mikaljan, very interesting. I wish they put that feature in the K800
I've been complaining about that for a while

@ Jah -- Thanks for your previous answer to my question about ordering from Expansys and thanks again for answering the radio question. You've been a great source of information during this loooong wait!
@ adnhk1 -- Thanks to you too for the response about the radio.
It is good to know that all the speakers have built in radio antennas. That will come in handy, even though I will usually be playing MP3s.
The phone is so close to being in my hands. Hopefully by the time I move back to school (1 week), I will be ready to order my P990! But for now, I will just have to order a screen protector, Memory Stick Pro Duos, FM music transmitter for the Land Rover, MDS-60 for the beach, and of course the bluetooth stereo headphones. Wow, this is going to be expensive... |

If you insert the ordinary headset in the fastport as antenna, you can transer the radio-audio to your BT-headset

slightly ironic in the fact that 'bluetooth' was designed to be wireless yet you have to plug in a wired set of speakers or earphones to be able to use a bluetooth headset for radio purposes??

on a side note to the above, perhaps SE could install a built in aeriel into car holders or even a hard case, rather than having to plug in speakers?? |

My p910i is on Voda and has minimal start up branding branding, some pre installed connections (You can add your own configurations if you wish) and some pre installed images, so I can live with that level of branding no problem,
I have told Vodafone that I will renew my contract with an upgrade to the P990i on the sole understanding that all functions advertised by SE are fully operational or I shall return the phone and cancel my contract. If everything works as per the SE spec sheet I fail to see the problem with network operators models indeed the excessive prices charged for SIM free models certainly outweighs any perceived advantage that they offer From reading some of the posts of those who have been early SIM free adopters it seems being a SIM Free purist is expensive, frustrating and risky.

The wifi is actually the one thing that works without any problem. It connect to access-points wid wep, wpa-psk and all... and when you set up a network once it reconnects automaticly when you are in range if you have wifi on and do something that needs data-transfer. (as long as you have the settings for the network you are close to higher in priority than gprs)
Works like a charm.. hehe.

No matter what people say in reviews, most people will get a P990, whether they are outdated or not, I mean who needs a 3.2 mega pixel camera anyway, but we all need wi-fi.
