Guy Fawkes used to be a big deal back in the day but seemingly it has dead a quiet death.
Will be keeping my ears plugged this evening as I live close to one of those designated areas where fireworks can be exploded.

@da wanqsta: What's it with you and Motorola...ok along with LG it's probably also my least favourite cellphone brand but you seem to be taking the mickey out of them all the time. |

Yes folks, the Kryptik One may be 36 but at heart i'm forever 18 Made the usual calls to the Police Services to enquire the location of the designated areas, rather fruitless calls as it turned out since they were as clueless as moi regarding designated areas in the suburb. Eventually made a roundup of the neighbourhood kids, informed the cops that we'd be in my backyard behaving ourselves, which we did Most of the time, anyway lol. The S.A.M.D 1st birthday was celebrated in spectacular fashion with rockets, Catherine wheels, and countless sparkling goodies courtesy of our friends from India.
@Wanksta, lol, i know what you mean... Moto's come up with some good phones, although there certainly are notably bad exceptions.

@ brix,
LOL,no it's really nothing personal, even if it may seem so with all the joking.I actually don't have any substantial reason to single them out;I've had 3 Motorolas in the past as well. One served me VERY well (A008),the other two didn't.(V50 and V100).
I dunno, maybe their pseudo-'hip' handset marketing names eg. PEBL,RAZR,SLVR,ROKR etc. make it easy to adapt into jokes, and as most of us here have either Nokia or SE,perhaps it's just a 'default' handset manufacturer to jokingly muck about with, without 'offending' any people who might be overly sensitive about making jokes of their handset manufacturer.
I generally don't bad-mouth Moto, and certainly the light-hearted humour is not designed to offend Moto owners or prospective Moto owners.

Boys, the debate surrounding the regulation of the cellphone industry vis a vis porn and minors is really hotting up. I'm chatting to an IT buddy atm. His view is that the parents need to be held accountable for what's on their kids' phones... You guys won't believe the stories his wife, a State prosecutor, is telling us of the messes kids get into. What's scary is that so many of the stories the kids tell is that their involvement in sexual misdemeanours began with porn...

Yip thats a touchy topic, i dont think its the parents fault though... Its so EASILY acessable, so you cant blame them... Iv seen some kids phones they got 10x more pron than me... and i mean hectic/weird stuff... the worst i thing apart from little boys downloading smut is the little GIRLS making videos and the distribution of it... thats scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Theres no way atm of restricting it, without adults complaining bout their acess... and as long as things like b/t are around whether they download it from wapsites or not, they gona send through b/t anyway!!
its already out of hand.... |
