Way to expensive though... 360$ cheapest
Yes it is!
Look at the audio capabilities of this thing! Give SE the same hardware and it will be one hell of walkman phone. The PMP market is not as lucrative anymore so Sony should allow SE some leverage.

ComcScore's MobiLens research into the five biggest European markets provides an insight into the UK market share enjoyed by major handset manufacturers.
Almost 20 million Android handsets are being used in those countries (UK, Spain, France, Italy Germany), with the UK the biggest market with 6.3 million users.
"Sony Ericsson has a significant portion of the remainder (14.2%) in UK"

That's not that surprising because a lot of people still own SE's old java 'dumbphones' where walkman/cyber-shot were a complete hit in the UK among youth etc. I know loads of people who own the W995i, and others who still use old phones like the K800i! The UK is one of SE's best markets, could this be down to the fact that their HQ is located in London?

No, they are talking strictly Android handsets.

Thank you sambouka!!
The is some good news for SE in that report. That this is up to July is another good news. They are in with a chance as long as they start competing.
So, in all, there are basically three manufacturers in it, ie, HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson.
This makes me look forward to their Q3 financial report.

... and I'm not surprised to see LG at that position, I've always said that they are rubbish and it is a matter of time before they quit the cellphone business!
I wish Motorola to recover. Hopefully, the deal with Google will spur them on.

Analysts from comScore have released the latest smartphone market share trends for the top five European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom). The data which spans the three months to July 2011 shows that the Xperia smartphones are comfortably in third position when it comes to Android market share, behind HTC and Samsung.
The results differ from market-to-market with Sony Ericsson holding the largest Android market share in Spain (18.8%) and lowest share in Italy (8.3%). Taking the five largest European countries together (EU5) gives SE a market share of 15%, behind HTC at 35% and Samsung at 32%. During this three month period, SE only had its two flagship devices in the market (the Xperia arc and Xperia PLAY). With the breadth of newer Android Xperia models now being released, Sony Ericsson will be hoping for a larger increase in share at the next survey. Click through for a fancy chart of shares across each individual country.

Great performance from just two flagship phones - when you consider how many HTC announced. Nozomi is looking like Arc's upgrade right now.

Some guy in the comments on mobil.se was hyping nozomi. Said it was going to be something special. "The best flagship from SE for a very long time, with new technology to surpass all others". Good quality and a lower price than the competition apparently (dunno if I like the last part). He said he was working at SE, and sometimes you can get inside info from guys in the comments there (everyone from SE is probably reading it). Remember I got some info regarding x10 back in the day
Not much info but at least the hyping for 2012 flagship has begun |

I was thinking about Nozomi, and the specs we know so far about it.It is rumored to have a 4.3"+ HD screen,dual-core 1.5ghz processor and a 12mp(16mp possible?) camera. While all those specs are pretty good,i am afraid that Sony Ericsson are still gonna be behind in the cpu/gpu/ram department.I think that they will be using qualcomm processors again and most probably the msm8260 at 1.5ghz.What leads me to believe that is the fact that HTC(which is always the fastest when it comes to using new qualcomm processors) last year came out with the Desire HD which used the msm8255 processor, found in all 2011 xperia models. This year, the same time around HTC announced the Sensation XE,which uses a dual-core 1.5ghz processor,so maybe that's the same processor that will be on Nozomi.I just hope that Sony Ericsson learns from their past year mistakes, and either choose a different cpu(st-ericsson a9600 or ti omap 4470) or if they stick with qualcomm at least use the new krait processors.Competition is fierce when it comes to cpu/gpu and Sony Ericsson has been behind in this department,by not offering not even one dual-core model this year, when even Sony came out with dual-core tablets and media player.
Could anyone with some insight on SE next year portfolio, give us some hints on the direction SE will go/?? |

Don't we already know? Was it here or maybe on it168 some guy mentioned that next year SE will have a wider range of Android phones than even Samsung. All using the same CPU/GPU found in the Nozomi - 1.5ghz dual core Snapdragon.
I guess its going to be a repeat 2011 next year. Just with more phones and hopefully more profits. Great for low-mid range buyers but high end will be disappointing as this year.
Flagship phone using same CPU as the low end android.

at least that's a step up...the fact alone that the chip will be produced in 28nm,means lower power consumption,so better battery....we shall see...i just wished they went for st-ericsson a9600...it looks so powerfull in fact sheets |

Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon roadmap, 2.5GHz CPUs coming early next year
Senior Vice President of Product Management Cristiano Amon confirmed that the chipmaker's S4 line of silicon will be shipped to manufacturers by the end of this year and should appear in consumer products by the beginning of 2012. Available in single-, dual- or quad-core models, the new, 28nm additions to the Snapdragon family will also support Adreno graphics, 3D and 1080p HD, in addition to 3G and LTE connectivity. If all goes according to schedule, then, we could see a slate of S4-equipped handsets at next year's Mobile World Congress in February, though we'll try to contain our excitement until we get a more specific launch date.
