Congrats, for all the phone calls ppl made to potential suppliers, I bet the cost of all phone calls added up you could buy a P990.

the wait is almost over......well maybe for some of us.Well having waited for so long i think ill miss this experimental model and most probably get the next one probably get a less experimental wm5 phone....now lets see just which one should i get...hmmmm |

Well i did say that earlier on i highly doubt that expansys or any retailer in the uk will have the p990i today...looks like i was right after all 
Yes this wait is highly annoying, what is SE playing at??. Could it be that the rumour about the phone not being released till sept/oct could be coming true??.

Sorry to say the September date (which I did propose originaly!) was always correct at least if you wanted a UK network tested phone, I never could see these early models having been tested properly and it seems I am being proved correct sadly. I am out of comitment and the renewalls team called me yesterday to see what I was going to do I told them i would like a P990 they said we now have a firm date Sept 3rd and I can have the phone for £150 I told them to take a running jump after a sharp intake of breath was asked "how about £70" I again said take a running etc, I was then told OK "Dont worry you will not actualy have to pay for the phone" so she has reserved me one for the 3rd September on the sole understanding it is FREE and Vodafone network tested with all advertised functions fully operational otherwise back it will go!!!

Interesting but im talking about the non network branded handsets ie sim free as i couldnt bear to use a p990i thats been butchered by the networks and their true functionality. Take for example the m600i from SE, its avail on Vodaphone but from what i have been hearing Voda really butchered the phone so much so that most of the functionality has been taken off and the sad thing about it...is that at the moment you cannot de-brand the handset and flash it with a generic firmware from SE.
Perhaps with the p990i they wont mess too much with it but i was always going buy the p990i sim free. Only phone i have ever had from a network is the SE W810i from tmobile but thats because i took out a new contract with them a few months ago. But i de-branded my handset as soon as i could as tmobile had all their rubbish on there and had disable flash themes...soon as i had de-branded the phone, i found it much more nicer and faster as well.
But as i said i wouldnt be surprised if the p990i sim free model doesnt actually come till sept . I hope not as ive been waiting far too long for this phone.
Looks like expansys never received any stock, just had a look at their live warehouse feed and nothing about the p990i has come in. So fingers crossed that they get them in by monday of next week. |

Well looks like only a few days to go now... I'm going on holidays tomorrow, and like many others before me who have done so I'm expecting the phone to be out when I return :) Here's hoping i'll have much to read about how great it is when I get back :)

Just wanted to share. Been following this thread for months. 2 minutes ago they phoned me from "the phonehouse" in Taby, outside Stocholm. My p990 that i preordered a month ago is now in the store waiting for me. Just have to finish my work then I´ll go and get it!!! |
