Guys, the volume in default media player is too silent for me, even with headphones and with volume on max, I can't hear my music very well when in traffic. Can I get a recommendation of a media player that let's you increase the volume more than by default media player?

ambivalent - try powerAMP. it's a very popular android music player. it's a pay app though. also, have you tried turning off the volume normalizer?

Now am getting out of memory pop ups. Why is Sony software so buggy?? Am still getting rid of this thing the battery life is appalling for something with a 3,000mAh battery. Barely nothing syncing except contacts and Gmail once per day,no BT on no GPS location,no wi fi, my network doesn't have 2G so cannot turn off 3G,brightness auto,bare minimum of widgets and anything running. General usage is crap and a minute of usage after unplugged from charger it's already at 97%. I now hate Sony phones. How can I be out of memory with 2 gig ram and 11 gigs left of internal?? And don't feed me crap that it's my flashed firmware. I had poor battery life on first firmware.

very strange you're having such issues.
i have had none of the issues you're mentioning. my battery life has been stellar. even with regular usage and NO stamina mode, i'm getting still in the 30s by the end of the day.
why don't you try a factory reset or a repair using the PC Companion.

Hmm, this is the first time I heard someone having a problem with the battery life on Sony's phone. In my experience, I've never had problem with the battery life on all of my sony's phone and with Xperia Z1, I personally feel this is the best in terms of battery life.
My usage is moderate to heavy with all settings always ON (GPS, Bluetooth, 3G/wifi, NFC, auto brightness). Even the phone occasionally in Bluetooth connection with my smartwatch. With all these, the phone can last more than 24hrs.

Very true,when I saw the replacement model,it almost looked like z,not vibrant ,shift in colors and also I told them to give DOA,its been 1 month rounding up still  .
What a quality check failed flaw by Sony,mine screen was good with yellow tint+bleeding on top of the screen.
I been run out of luck,not sure on DOA model i am about to get the device. |

My Z1 has gone already Sean.
I didn't have the amount if issues you seem to be encountering though !! my issues were the very average camera and poor screen which for a camera centric handset were deal breakers for me . I decided to keep my 1020 for photography purposes and stay with Sony so I traded my Z1 for a Z Ultra for media consumption and Sky sports on the go. Couldn't be happier...........at the moment

Well I am still selling it. Camera crashed yesterday night too about 3 times. The default album app also crashed and when I clicked on photos it asked me if I wanted to delete them instead of view them. And yes I also agree the Walkman app is very low volume. Anyway I am also annoyed because I should not have to keep resorting to resets and repairs. It's always Sony and I think I won't bother again with a Sony as I always have issues with them. Instead of making photography enjoyable on my Holland trip it's made it not so and kinda spoils the overall experience of taking pics

Yeah I've tried that and gained something like 10% in volume.

almost every post you make here is bitching about stuff - do you ever stop complaining ?
If you don't get on with the Z1 then get rid of it - most of the people posting here are very pleased with the Z1
I also understand that improvements can be made with some aspects of the phone but it is far from bad right now
seriously - get rid of it and move along
sorry for the blunt post - that's just me straight talkin - it's an Irish thing
PS - in my experience if you have 99.9% of other users not reporting the same issues then you have one of two things going on
it's either a faulty device
or you messed it up yourself installing dodgy stuff or messing with the OS - I have found a couple of apps that caused my Z1 to have issues so it does happen

Mine has gone within a week. It did not have any lag or other issues but I had two main problems. First is that its very uncomfortable for me to use, maybe its my hand size but I couldn't make it sit comfortably. I find the Galaxy S4 and even the Note 3 so much more comfortable in the hand but you can say that is personal preference.
Secondly, I went to an important family engagement party and snapped a huge number of shots and they were all rubbish. They look rubbish on the phone and rubbish on the computer. My wife had the digital camera luckily but I really need to have a decent camera phone on Android and for all the hype with the Z1, its no way near acceptable for that price. I don't even need a high megapixel count, I need the quality and my Xperia P has always performed exceptionally for me. I think I'll wait for the Z1F to come because it should be more comfortable and I really hope that they sort the camera. |

Curious how the user experience differs from person to person!
I was very undecided to get the Z1 but the design made me go for it instead of the Note 3.
Now Im more than happy. It´s the first !!!! device in the smartphone flagship category that easily lasts over a day with heavy usage and everything on. So for me the most important feature that I need is a triumph.
Camera is the best I´ve had, compared it to Iphone 5 and Samsung S4 and it always came out better. Of course this is not too important for me and Im surely not an expert.
No lags, no crashes, no freezes, so I really feel for the people here reporting these issues.
And Sony better make sure they can produce a more balanced quality with their products. but to be honest, reading in other forum about other devices, it seems to be a common problem nowadays that there´s a lot of faulty devices being sold.... |
