Apparently and Robyn has been identified as the'square' phone.
Do we have any details of the tablet at all? Size?
Well it was quite obvious how bulky it was, so yeah square phone it is then. Can't believe it, I thought it would be more innovated, and abstract, but what can we do, its a good start in making products accessible to everyone even if it means such dire measures. |

What makes you think Robyn is 'the' square phone, maybe there are squarer out there? Sadly, there are some strange phones that have been cancelled that you may never see. It is good to see them to understand the way they are heading with their designs. Reese live was actually quite nice, I would have been interested if it were to be released. I remember this W910 they made with touch screen and UIQ which was ugly but then you see where Paris came from if you compare.
The tablet is more likely to be a net book or even smaller like the tiny Sony thing. I think that a tablet is too risky for them considering their financial results. I don't think that people realise how big a deal it is to make such a loss. Lesser losses is still nothing to be proud of, they have to dig deep and use funds saved up to operate. That means cutting other projects like Reese sadly and the pressure is now on fewer products to be successful. Its better to have a large portfolio with mediocre sales and if you get lucky, the feature phones are successful and bring in most of the profit like the good days. You expect everyone to get X10 and Vivaz and if it fails, what do you fall back on? That would be a massive blow.
All eyes on MWC for the Xperia 'range' hopefully, to do the business. Competition is tough though, some very nice phones will be showcased and some big strides will be taken. |

Hopefully SE will showcase some cheap TS phones, if they don't they will not make a profit profit from the X10 or Vivaz or any other high end phone they have planned. |

On http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/ they said that Vivas is the second phone in the family of Communication Entertainment phones. So is it not under Entertainment Unlimited and will there be more phones under the EU umbrella?
Also, is there a way to know how well a certain model is selling? Like how many million phones have been sold? I saw a report saying over 10 million Samsung Stars have been sold. It would be interesting to know how much W995s, Satios, Ainos, Yaris, X1s have sold so far.

No, of course. The Nexus UX interface is great, why would someone wants to remove it?
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

Seriously though, I am really looking forward to 'Abelin' cause my P1 has served and continues to serve me extremely well even though it has become slow by today's standards. Se just needs to be more SE-ish in design and not Nokia-ish. I want that sex appeal of the X1, X2, X10, Satio and even the P1 on 'Abelin' cause it will be what I need on a phone. The P1 was a one of its kind with that QWERTY+Touchscreen combo and it works brilliantly.
I really hope they don't give a Faith lookalike cause I will puke. Nokia would hev been proud of Faith's design. I also find the Vivaz ugly which makes me think they have lost their damn minds in that design department!
P1 is still a masterpiece, now slow against competition but strong enough to carry out regular works smoothly. I am using one and I didn't like anything else much better so had to move back to it. I am looking for X2 tho, Beautiful design. However I am not jumping for Vivaz design, I tried to like it but it is just not SE -ish as you said as well.
We need something brilliant like P1, something as good looking as X2 and as powerful as X10. Perhaps X2-like form for WinMo7. And I strongly wish Sony Ericsson to re-consider P5 with new design. Faith is just not there, they could do a lot better job with it. |

It'd be interesting to know about the EU thing indeed. The model name (U5) suggests it is an EU phone, but it is marketed as an CE phone (and so is X10, which is actually an Xperia). I think EU and Xperia have to do with focus, media and productivity that is, while CE is the more bigger picture with the UX-interface and such.

3inches screen and blackberry form factor?? It sounds crazy. I would prefer a X1-X2 form factor. Badassmam or Santa Claus could you please bring us more precisions on Abelin?

Badassmam confirmed the 3'' screen. I also hope it is like the Blackberry in keypad tactile feedback. Most of all I hope it carries that SE beautiful design cause this is more like what I have been waiting for to replace my P1i. I tried replacing the P1 with the BB 9700 which lasted 2 weeks and went back to its box. I just got quickly bored with it though I really love the BIS that comes with it.
