Thanks Zeneticx for the tip, but for some reason SE Update Service still shows that I am using the latest version firmware R1EA030. I have read many comments on the R1EA033 and some say it's only available for certain regions, while others say that it is only for brand/unbranded w910i's.
I can't find an explanation in regard to why some report good battery performance when using the same R1EA030 firmware. The SEUS customer rep told me that the only difference between firmwares in different regions are the language packs... don't tell me the language pack is eating my battery, I am only using English that is bs.
Congratulations to those that are having great performance on your firmwares. I strongly hope in the next firmware update SE will offer a significant improvement to balance both performance and power issues in our w910i's.
To SilveR: I found a solution to the battery drain issue for our W910i... which is... get a quarter and look for a pay phone! hahah |

Yeah I have updated mine to R1EA033 thru SEUS a couple weeks ago, after having R1EA030. The battery indeed seems better, especially with BT enabled all day with moderate stereo bluetooth headset usage for listening to music/talking.
It also seems to freeze less.

I'm gonna try with mine again via SEUS later, if R1EA033 is there, I'm also still on R1EA030
Mine is also simfree..
But I did notice I did upgraded to the R1EA033 first , there was H icon available via connection 3g/GSM. Because of the battery drains so fast on mine I did retry to update my phone via SEUS, then I got suddenly R1EA030, and there is no "H" icon at all.. but battery still drains fast..
Will to a try later today... Hope there is new firmware available

I must say that i do love how you guys are complaining that your still on EA033. I'm stuck on R1DA038, and t-mobile branding to match. Is there anyone on T-Mobile UK that has managed to update higher, because its seriously not funny. |

Right, I'm feed up of R1da038 (T-Mobile UK) , and am seriously tempted to debrand the phone. However, the issue that i have is that as it is a contract phone, its still under warranty and i can't decide on what to do.
Tried talking to t-mobile but its like talking to a brick wall, and SE are not much better.
What the hell do i do???

Personally I would debrand it, but the firmware for the debranded ain't much better. Stay with what you have. How bad would you say it was to you and what issues are you gettin? |

I agree with Andrew. If you are not having restart or other serious issues with your firmware then I would just stick with it. If it is only the lag that is bothering you, then i can tell you from my experience after updating to R1EA030 the lag problem is only slightly improved.
From what I read online, the CDA number of your phone determines whether your phone can be updated or not through SE update service. You can view your CDA number by pressing >*<<*<* , Service Info, Software Info, first set of numbers under Customization (looks something like this xxxx-xxxx RxxA).
The following CDA should be able to update to R1EA033 (there may be more CDAs added) :
1201-6114
1200-9135
1201-0176
1201-4315
1201-4321
(Source: http://www.sonybbs.com/viewth[....]23207&extra=page%3D1&frombbs=1 )
If you really need to update your firmware, try and look for local SE service centers to see if they can help you. In the US, there are no local SE service centers so I have to mail my phone to them (process time+shipping time = ~2weeks maybe even more)...sucks.
Hope this helps, and good luck to you Oblivion.

Indeed, mine is 1201-4321 and I updated to R1EA033 thru SEUS. It also says APAC-ANZ in customization. APAC means Asia Pacific I assume. I bought my phone unlocked in Toronto, Canada, and it came with a euro style charger plug. |

SEUS just released firmware R1ED003. I'm updating it as I post. I got the Unbranded version of w910i (Hong Kong) Region.
Hope this firmware fixes the restart problems I'm having. |

User interface is definitely faster. I didn't notice any new bugs so far. The menu wallpaper is still missing after landscape mode. I'll post more if I experience anything. |

It would have been nice for you to post the firmware information and also a screenshot that the firmware was available. Makes this post worth reading for alittle moment of your time. I hope when I get in from work tonight that there is a firmware upgrade!
However, I am on R1EA033 already.
Just to say my customization is:
1200-6328 R10A
1200-5451 R1EA033
