I had this problem also. In my case, I found that it occurred after I restored my backup, so it must be something to do with an old settings conflict. The way I solved it was to do a master reset and not to restore old backup. After you do master reset check to see if radio is working before you start reinstalling apps and contacts etc. |

I had the same problem. Do a master reset and it should start working. I was even able to restore my preset stations.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace  So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

My phone keeps disconnecting when using wifi.Never had this problem in previous firmware.And the settings are the same as before. |

i get 16.4 mb of free ram at sturtup in new firmware is this normal?? |

I get 16.9mb tops, used to get 17.2mb with R4, but it's irrelevant for now as long as it's stable and performing the way it should |

In any case, for me SE has proven to be even beyond i n c o m p e t e n t !!! My phone was working very well throughout the month and fws, but now they screwed up the Alarm. First its VERY low and second it doesn't stop and then in addition the green led doesn't stop blinking. Only stop to this is a restart.
So that some can now 'better' connect to the wifi or so that we see now this somewhat stupid and no function/feature progress bar at the beginning, SE messed up a simple and basic function of this phone, the Alarms for Alarm and Appointments.
If that is not incompetent then what.
Every time SE makes us .... wait for the 'new', next firmware... even when one just came out. How ridiculous... but I could cry!

How much battery do you have after 5 hours being connected to WiFi? I swear mine would be dead if it even made it that far. ive never tried it admittedly but the rate it discharges when i AM connected makes me think it wouldnt last.

I have waited since Jan for this update and came back from holiday and updated to the latest release.
I now find I cannot connect my phone to my PC.
I cannot sync with Outlook and the rest of my contacts and notes.
I have spent the whole eveing trying to sort this - anyone got any ideas.
I have reistalled the PC Suite latest version.
I get a 'unrecognised USB device' error when I connect my phone.
This phone system really is a pile of junk. Far too many problems to make it anything like a business phone. |

I intermittently get this error too. What you can do is open the Device Manager, find under USB devices the two items for SonyEricsson, delete them, then scan for new hardware. Since the drivers should already be on your disk they will be installed and if you get on the bottom status bar the message saying that the USB device has been connected successfully, then PCSuite will automatically see your P990. If not do the whole routine again, eventually it works.
You should also check that in m-router Advanced settings view, Sony Ericsson P990 Application port is included in the right panel.
If you want to take a short cut, try another USB port, P990 works in mysterious ways

at least before the update you could hold the cam button half a press then focus then scroll to vid record...

i think i'll wait for a new update to rectify the radio conflict instead of doing a master reset. it's just too cumbersome. am disappointed as to why SE didnt take into a/c all these factors before releasing a FW upgrade. looks to me like a rush job and causing a lot of inconvenience to us users.
even my RSS feeds does not perform its scheduled updates daily after i've upgraded the FW. SE better do something about it. there seems to be so many bugs in R5. it seems every day that passes i discover a new bug. |
