I actually bought an Abacus with the metal strap because i prefered the look of it, and it was only £120 from Micro Anvika in Tottenham Court Road.

BUT!!!

despite the fact that everyone is convinced the insides are the same as the Sony apart from the Walkman controls, i can't get the damn thing to work with my 8800, or 8800 Sirocco, despite people saying they had success with the SE version earlier in the thread.

Works fine with my w950i though. Tres annoying. Anything i could be missing to get it working??

It is not so easy the pairing process with different phones. You need to read the manual and still you can make it wrong as I did for many times. The master reset must be done 1-2 times and pairing may need 2-3 repeats before they work properly.
The master reset needs quite long (several seconds!) pushing both buttons and the menu must be in pairing position!

Very commonly in repearing from Z1010 to K800i there comes in BT search: uncommon vehicle. In this case you need a new hard reset and a new pairing after that!

Good luck!

Right Mattheus, did you need to master reset even though the watch had paired?

My 8800 and 8800 Sirocco make the watch vibrate at the pairing stage, and everything thing pairs the same as with the w950i, but when someone calls, the watch does nothing, and the date and time do not display.

Hmm looks like i'll have to try this one some more!

Yes, you must master reset the MBw-100 every time when changing the phone you wand pair it. And one master reset is not enought in most cases. The watch can remember only one phone.

I have just swap which phone I use with my MBW-100 from one K800i to another K800i, with no master reset, and it seems to work fine. Have not tried my P990i yet but will try it some time soon.

OK not going to try it with the P990i, as it is up for sale, the P990i that is, but if it does not sell, then I will try the watch with it. Has anyone got the Black and Silver versions, and can they give their view on which they like the best. Tempted to get a black one as well, but there does not seem to be any good pics of the black one.

So, instead of waiting...
I Just went out and bought a silver one.

I have to say i really enjoy it.
The functions work very good.

Only CALLER ID doenst scroll(only the first part of the name is visible, when its a long name ofcourse).
MP3 player, functions work perfectly!
And i was suprised to see that the SMS message function works as well with the P990!!
I read somewhere that it doenst work with UIQ phones, for sure with the M600i. So i thought that i wouldnt work with the P990, but it does.

Great watch!
Little heavy, price heavy as well, but its worth it.
