its bad that am not he only one. but isn't it possible to solve this problem by not ending the foreground program so that the other running program doesn't popup. or may be if something need to be popup then why not SMP interface itself. well its just a suggestion, check if you can do something else i will change my habit not to click on smp for pop up menu. |

hi,
yesterday i bought SMP for my p990i and can't remember, how life was without this great program.
some little features for SMP would help a lot:
1.) it would be great, if one could set a shortcut on the hardware-button for the media player to open SMP (or to open the menu in fo mode).
2.) for me it wold be a big help, if the menu in fo mode would show the favorites instead of the running tasks. i know, that this is different for other users. perhaps one could make an option to let the user chose what he/she prefers.
3.) again favorites: i think that favorites are very important, because of the big lack of usability of the p990i (the p910i was way better in terms of usability). behaps you could offer a settings-menu, where one could chose, which programs one wants to have in the favorites-menu (no programs automatically added) and in which order.
again: i know that most of the users feel that different things are important. therefor i think that many, many options are very helpful in a program.

one could set a shortcut on the hardware-button Unfortunately that facility is bound to participating in Symbian Signed which we currently refrain from due to reasons explained earlier in this and other forums.
the menu in fo mode would show the favorites instead of the running tasks ... one could chose, which programs one wants to have in the favorites-menu ... and in which order Apparently you need an application launcher which works better than the Main menu. We plan to release another program that does that, but SMP will remain a task manager in the first place. For the future, we envision a cooperating set of separate applications, providing services like standby screen, today view, application launcher, task manager, file manager, system information, and may be others.

Don't know if anybody else has noticed this....
Open the flip, then open Calendar in Day view. Tap on the date bar at the top - sometimes the pop-up date selector calendar doesn't appear. The screen dims slightly, as though the calendar is about to appear.... but it doesn't unless you nudge the scroll-wheel a couple of times.
If you tap a few more times it will appear.
This problem does not occur when the Swiss Manager isn't running. |

We tried but could not reproduce the above problem (anyone else?). Please describe your phone model, organizer version, SMP version, SMP icon type, and any other relevant data.

I can't reproduce it now myself! Must have been a glitch that's now cleared itself.
Funny because the problem was occurring yesterday even after a restart.
Thanks for looking into it anyway.... |

r u playing the warring nations game? cos when you are in the game and hit the back button, there is a message saying the app is now running in the background. The memory is already allocated, like 4 MB, but neither the Task manager nor the SMP can see this app running !!!!! So there is nothing you can do unless you go back in the game and choose to exit.
Isn't this something? i mean to be able to hide the program from both the SMP and the task manager?! |

Ever since SMP stopped auto starting, some days I forget to manually start it and use my phone without it for days then when I remember I put it on. To be honest I no longer see a difference.

Well, if you forget SMP then apparently you do not need a clock which is always there, and the fastest way to switch between running programs, and convenient access to your favorite applications. One could call that a difference.

That is definately true for Tweak Peaks! And for SMP it might come true after the awaited new FW release R6xx. For right now the most important point for me using SMP it the convenient way to automatically close/shut down programs when ie. closing the flip. This alone is worth the money.
