I just updated my T68m with firmware R5D007. I used the Thai client software and all is fine. My standby time bounces from 230 and 250, with 5h 32m of talk time.

I don't have any BT stuff to tryout, but as far as the other functions of the phone, all is working just fine.

I restored all of my setting using the phone backup software. (Wap, phonebook, calendar, tasks, bookmark, etc.)

I am more than pleased with my upgrade.

av0135,

Thanks for the kind words! And yes, you did pay us later on that same evening (never had a doubt). I think you should use firmware flash R5D007 in phones with hardware revision R6A. Phones with hardware revision R6B seem to have failed BT functions when flashed to R5D007.

R6A ==> R5D007 = Good!
R6B ==> R5C001 = Good!

That's all I have for you right now. I seem to hear that different hardware revisions of T68m phones working with R5D007, but we had a bunch of phone calls stating BT failures on various T68m phones. Good luck is all I can say. I recommend that those without hardware revision R6A go the way of EMMA2.

BTW, has anyone used sevenfire's KILLAVR file after you've killed your phone? Any results? I get this question all the time..

Our MSN Messenger email id is: gsm@virtualdynamix.com

Thanks again Alain!

I finally found a T68i software (after flashing like 10 times argh) that will give me the normal standby time of around 250 hours! (instead of the dreaded 50 hours) All the other firmware files failed (even the single file ones)

The ONLY firmware to work properly with my R4A hardware T68m, 02W25 is the R2E006 version. All the other ones failed to give me the normal standby time.

it is available here:

http://www.sevenfire.net/t68.html

i hope this saves some people headaches.

thejason,

Do you think that perhaps phones with broken BT can be flashed with R2E006 to regain normal settings?

I'm not trying to answer for him or anything but I think its a possiblity. But there must be a special firmware for certain hardware ver. Otherwise unless its a bug in the logger it should work fine.

I don't think that we have "permanently" damaged the BT hardware by doing the upgrade flashes...however, having said that, having a chipset that is talking to "new" firmware that doesn't communicate properly with it is about the same as having damaged goods. On the issue of down-flashing to other versions, until we know "exactly" which hardware versions work with which firmware revisions, this is an endless debate. Just sort of fumbling around the dark, so to speak. But I'm sure that we are getting closer...tomorrow, I'm going to go to a friends cellphone "superstore" and see if I can get some more version info for all of us. By the way, my phone is 02W25...keep hacking!

Well, I have just read (to backup) and flashed my phone to R5D007 and everything looks fine in relation to standby time, will confirm later....can't test the bluetooth, but then again i'm not that fussed.

I will go and see if I can get a BT demo in some shop and use my phone as a test device, just for your records

Here are my details....

Originally T68m R1b s/w r1b h/w week 49 2001
Now T68i (R5D007 English and Eastern Europe Language pack)

I used the logs supplied by Unlocking, with the 6.52 Ericsclient (Thai.zip) from Unlocking. R5D firmware from Sevenfire.

Well Chuffed

You can also use another T68i or m phone to discover it

I'm not sure, as my T68m has not been a victim of the bluetooth thing yet (i've tested every time i flashed)... and I've flashed it with every conceivable firmware that is out publicly.

the only gripe i have with r2e006 is that it is the chinese version... meaning that the phonebook along with other menu aspects are stuck in medium font. I've noticed this with all chinese firmwares... is this a known bug that they refuse to fix?

Just a quick question/confirmation before I flash my phone...

1- should sim card be removed from my phone ?

2- phone should be off before connecting to cable/ericsclient ?

I am updating from T68m R2B013 to R5D007 eu (hardware R4C)

thanks for your help...and wish me luck. (i hope the force is with me).
