You don't need a special aerial, a PC tuner is exactly the same as the tuner in a standard TV. And like with TVs, indoor aerials are a bit hit and miss! It's best to buy a good quality (ie quite expensive) one, preferably with a built in battery powered signal booster / amplifier.

"Yes, the video memory will be shared in all but the most expensive laptops, but the 9200 should be sufficient for the type of games that you want to play." Thanks Cycovision, I received the laptop and going thru upgrading stages with software! Thanx4ur willingness2help!

Thanks Cyco. Would I be able to receive freeview digital channels then? Also, any ideas on how to hook up sky digital/sattelite to a laptop?

You can only get freeview if your PCMCIA tuner card is capable of recieving freeview, standard tuner cards can't. The box and / or documentation that came with it should tell you whether it's freeview capable or not.
As far as I know, you can't get cards that will allow you to watch sky digital on a computer. The only way round it would be to use a standard sky digital box (that you plug into the telly) and plug it into the aerial socket of your tuner card but that kind of defeats the object!

Click start, control panel, regional and language options. Then click the languages tab, then the details button. Select 'English (united kingdom) - United Kingdom' from the drop down box and OK all of the open windows.

Hey cyco need your help. Right I've got a 2.5 inch 40gb lappy harddrive. The OS part of it has given up, but it still has all my data on it. I'm using an "EasyIDE" adaptor so I have it plugged into a USB. I can see the data apart from on my old user as it was an administrator user I cannot access the data. Any way to get around this lock, I get access denied when I doubled click it.
Cheers.

if you are local administrator on the computer you can take ownership over the files... what OS are you using? right click the folder and choose Properties, then under Security click on Advanced and then under Owner you can change ownership (this is if you are using 2000/XP, a bit different procedure when using NT) |
