December? meh this is poor effort on Sony's end. There better be a large camera update with 4.3, otherwise fail.

i like how they conveniently chose not to commit to any timeline for 4.4 hehe..

oh well. as long as there is a big camera update for Z1 with 4.3 i'm happy. cause things work smooth as butter already..

@crownedakuma - i have downloaded and tried it last week when I got my update. It's fun to use and is the type of "action shot" that people were discussing before. It's like the HTC one's feature. It works fairly well, I think. I'll post a sample if i get a chance later.

Somethings I been noticing with my Z1 whilst away. Firstly since this latest update occasionally I am getting home screen redraw issue which didn't happen before. Second is twice now I have put my phone down on a table full battery and when I've picked it up again it's turned off by itself and not come back on. This is another piece junk from Sony it's going to be sold when I'm back in UK
Phone?? What phone??

@Bonovox - why don't you just try rolling back to the previous version? I have no such issues since the update. Perhaps for some reason your manual update with flashtool is the culprit? I updated mine through PC Companion..

Try rolling back to the previous version since you seemed much happier with it! Then, just wait for 4.3 to arrive and see how that changes things

I'd say the same Sean bud, it's probably the firmware because you never had these problems before updating, why not flash back to original firmware and see how it goes for a while because I'm not having any of these issues either.

@gitaroo - your link is broken. but yea. call recording would be nice! i miss that feature that existed way back on the very first sony ericsson device! I don't know why they eliminate features like that. Those types of features should become standard fair and should only be eliminated if it's because of hardware or something.

bring it back so i can record people and blackma.. i mean keep records of my conversations when I need to..

its from the leaked Honami firmware that got ported to the Z, the camera get a boost in quality for the Z before the Z1 was even revealed which showed tons of potential for the Z1. Have to say I am quite disappointed at the final Z1 software.

maybe the leaked honami firmware was the firmware they are working on for 4.3 the update and what is on Z1 now is a different version firmware that was worked on for initial release.

it's not uncommon for there to be several versions of software being developed concurrently. one for short term release and one for future release with additional features that need further tweaking.
