others may still be using dual core then. Though, if samsung, htc etc make the jump to, lets say, quad core, then will ICS allow quad cores to run at their full potential? Or will it be the same case as the dual cores, where gingerbread isnt really fully optimised for them?
If so, then the dual core in march wont be so bad, even if the others are on quad. id rather have fully compatible software for the hardware im running!

Thanks! I always forget about Google translator. I suppose the processor(s) is/are Qualcomm's. I personally don't like Qualcomm's processors but prefer TI OMAP, wouldn't even mind ST-Ericsson's.

Quad-core processors are due in the second half of next year, apparently around September/October. What I am referring to as 'maybe even better' are dual-core processors running at 1.8Ghz or more. For instance, ST-Ericsson's processors are dual-core, 1.8Ghz to 2.5Ghz with PowerVR Series 6.
One thing I am pretty sure of is that SE will optimize this beautifully if the arc is anything to go by.
The problem, as I have mentioned a couple of times, is the perception created by the super specced phone A compared to phone B.
Forget Motorola and LG, they are useless at optimizing any software, they have been since inception. The thing is among Samsung, HTC and SE specs will play a role in sales.
SE still carries quite a lot of hype with their devices.

Nozomi's direct competitors will probably be equipped with: Samsung: 2 core 28nm 2ghz Exynos HTC: 2 core Krait based 1.8GHZ 28nm cpu paired with adreno 225. I don't believe SE could win with those two in eny department, except for design:( |

When SE release their dualcore it will probably be similar to the competition. The problem is when new hardware arrives, new better dualcores and quadcores, samsung and specially HTC will release a phone without caring about their precious flagship. SE have to fixed release dates and should be more flexible and sync it with new hardware instead |

Schmidt admits Motorola buyout is also for hardware
Google's Eric Schmidt has for the first time revealed that the buyout of Motorola was not just so the search giant had rights to the company's myriad patents but due to its hardware too.
Speaking at a Salesforce.com conference, Schmidt explained Google's decision to make its biggest ever payout for Motorola: "We did it for more than just patents.
"We actually believe that the Motorola team has some amazing products coming....We're excited to have the product line, to use the Motorola brand, the product architecture, the engineers."
The way Schmidt is talking about the hardware means that we may well see some Googorola handsets in the near future.
Apple VS Google ???
is in trouble now??More trouble for

I caught this from that Chinese site :
...not the 8260 45nm, 28nm but the 8260a, dual-core Krait architecture, clocked at 1.5, with 1MB of L2 cache and 2 × 500MHz LPDDR2 dual channel memory, built-Adreno 225 GPU
What do you get from that? eventually 28nm or not? Krait or no? ... |

What do you mean? What page on the it168 site?
if se is using 8260 (45nm) and not 8260A (28nm) in nozomi, i am going to leave se!
8260A has dual channel memory too, something that is still absent in the market!

@back2you
Nozomi is not the Duo. If it is, then your rumors were wrong! Cause the specs are different. Nozomi is the ARC Successor... |

Difficult to interpret a statement like the above as it is 'incomplete' but it suggests that SE will be using the 8260a.

I took it from that topic about nozomi (page 3 probably) ... which I think yourself posted it's link.
That's google translation and not that good! IMO he says Nozomi will use a 8260a which uses 28 nm and Krait architecture ... as Dups said...

The ST-Ericsson dual-core Nova A9600 runs at 2.5Ghz and is 28nm.
Imagine if SE were to use that for this phone. Nobody would touch them for a while with such a monster.

I think that refers to Qualcomm and TI. Nvidia will actually deliver quad cores for tablets at the end of this year and quads for phones in the first half of 2012.
See e.g. Androidcentral.

Damn!!
But, realistically, can manufacturers be ready with their phones in Q2 with those?

I doubt that will end up same as Tegra 2 in mobile segment, where is it now LG Optimus 2X??? hype of world first dual core phone
I wonder if Sony can inject money investment to ST-Ericcson to developing this monster platform instead to partner up with Nvidia?
