I think the rarest phone was golden T68m with diamonds. Looks 100% better than Nokia Vertu.

Expensive might be, but rare ... I'm not sure, because this handset would be made again and again if there are enough people, who would buy it.
Also it's not real Ericsson made. It's made by a jewelery based on 'normal' T68.
But nice anyway:
And, if you look quite close to the pictures, you can see, that the keypad is not ///! It's a SE keypad. (Quite good to see at key 2)

in this article http://www.mobiletechnews.com/info/2005/07/04/135917.html
it says they are looking for a phone maker to build a low end phone for less then 30$ (25euro 235sek). they company also need to make 6mil of them.
the internet tells me that motorola would be the favorite to win this contract. winning this will ensure that motorola will have the biggest marketshare in the emerging countries.
now why do i post this here you think?
well what if we contact ericsson about it (not SE!) and ask them to do it. ericsson has got an excellent reputation in the emerging markets and always helped arround in thouse countries. during the tsjunamie ericsson also send a team to help with state of the art technology and stuff.
so what you think guys?

@bart /// sell platform for several brands, i dont think they would be interested. They will never make mobiles again, on some way they are more busy in the background as in the past. They wrote history in mob communication, that fact cannot be topped.

@boba: the auction text tells this:
Ericsson T65 - a special one.
Plastics are limited to internal issue within Ericsson. The phone itself is a pre-production unit loaded with software giving a Chinese language option.
