But why don't you just use a 1020, or an 808 from 2 years ago ? or even the iPhone 5, Note 3, without all the add on bullsh**t
I cannot believe that Sony would want you to spend more money on making a very, very average phone camera better by buying or even giving this away free when there are better alternatives.
Why do Sony continually disappoint when they obviously have the tech available to wipe the floor with the competition ?
Im so pissed off with my z1, camera wise. And I really, really wanted to love it because for the short term it does have the upper edge over WP8 (Nokia, microsoft) with available apps..........not for long though.......and then what !!
If SkyGo was available for WP8 to see the Gooners each week then my Z1 would be gone. Infact if I find a Z ultra to see football that's all I need to compliment my 1020 for my photography needs
The Z1 camera is a mess at present. Bad post processing and hit and miss focus issues.
Bad 20mp photographs are still bad photos

I didnt get the Z1 for the camera I got it as a complete media device ie music, movies, Internet, games the occasional photo and personally I dont think there is a better smartphone on the market for all of those bar the HTC ONE. I got the smartlens free and I always get a case for my phone so why not get one that compliments both. I understand your very frustrated with your Z1 and I hope Sony get the camera to meet your expectations then we will all be happy

It's not the worst camera but not the best either. I have managed decent pics with it but I have become like many here having a critical eye for detail. I do think it performs well as a fast smooth device and is built like premium, has a decent but not perfect screen and camera with a little stress can take good pics. When I recently took many photos around Birmingham centre I often become puffed out and frustrated at the auto focus issues and pics kept blurring and I had to keep taking them again and again. That to me is not enjoying photography it just made it stressful.

Hey Sean, somehow I didn't think you would
xperaijunkie........somehow I don't even think its even the complete device you think it is. Thanks to my good lady wife and her generosity I think I already have that............apart from the ability to watch the gooners on the move.......although a great performance from a team in your back yard today

time will tell if the camera will live up to the expectations it set in the beginning. though it should have impressed from the start.
hopefully the rumors of the big update in january are true and we'll see a big boost in camera performance, features, and image quality.
even if things stay the same.. i am still quite happy. never had a 1020 so i can't compare. but the pictures i've taken are still better than what i've experienced in the past with what i have owned and when i compare with my friends who have S4s and HTC one's.. they seem more impressed with my photos than their own.
without the camera, i think the Z1 is an amazing device. excellent build quality and performance is buttery smooth. definitely the BEST phone i've ever had.

well,ya know despite me changing alot and being fussy I do want to settle with something and I am a bit peeved that this time it's not turned out as great as hoped. I may sell it after I return from Holland in a weeks time and buy something else.
