They will not drop the price now..They know there is a huge demand out there..They will only drop the price if they have difficulty getting rid of the stock. This will hardly be the case with P990 though..
And if they do dropthe price eventually it will only be by a few pounds.
Bigger price drops will only take place September / October.
If people want the phone now they will have to pay huge money to get it.. |

By the way, a friend from Sweden told me that the phone is now completely sold out.
Can our Swedish friends confirm this?
Some stock will arrive in Denmark tomorrow but this is also sold out. Price range Euros 800,00. So it seems that the phone is expensive everywhere at the moment, sim free.. |

No P990s for the next two weeks after this initial batch would mean Expansys don't need to reduce prices - assuming the information about SE's marketing plan is correct. Get them while you can |

The fact that all Sony Ericsson marketing people are on their August Hols, helps keep the prices up at astronomical levels..
I fellthe price will be in the range of Euros 650 - 700 in Sept (Pounds 430 - 470). But who can wait till then?
What is 100 pounds more anyway...
Ironically speaking of course..

I was just wondering can you use a normal 2G sim in the P990i or will i have to get a new 3G one and transfer my number over.
Also if i did transfer it over to a 3G sim would i still be able to use it in a 2G phone, thanks.

im surprised your asking that.
a 2G sim will work fine in the P990. you just wont be able to make video calls and other 3g services(obviously)
|

You definately can make 3G video call with a 2G sim. I even made a
video call with a 16k sim.

I think that depends which network you are on. Orange UK, for example, don't let you do that. You must have a 3G SIM and 3G enabled on your account to do anything 3G. |

ares, I am not so sure about them having stock tomorrow..
I was told next week..I hope they do anyway..And yes you are right..they are much cheaper
I think they have miscalculated the launch price..Lucky the ones who will get one at this price
Watch the price go up after this.. |

You arer ight i guess, but you will be hard pushed to find this price anywhere right now. Even in Sweden the price was over 700 euros sim free..
I guess Mobile Gadgets have done the honourable thing and kept the price at its normal retail levels..
It will be interesting to see what the price trend is going to be over the next 2-3 weeks, provided there is enough units for sale..
Ares, I have just checked their price again. Std price Euro 673,00. The catch is they are asking for Euro 110 for delivery. Total almost Euros 800,00...Almost UK price levels..

Just checked their site and the delivered price with UPS Express Saver was coming out at around 762 Euros which at current exchange rates (which you're not likely to actually get anyway) works out to around £515.

Just go to their homepage and the news is in a panel on the right hand side a short way down the page. No direct link to the actual news posting itself though.
