This one is quite dark, the room had very subdued lighting. But still not too bad for a camera phone

and here's a photo that people will be curious about. The picture was taken with a K750, the subject is no more than 20cm high and about 5 feet from the camera when the photos were taken. Note that not only are the pictures optically zoomed, they also have no shape distortion as would normally be evident from a K750:
Before anyone tries to tell me you couldn't possibly take that photo with a K750, check this link first I'll give one hint, I didn't hold a lense in front of the camera, as I've done in the past. This is a whole different system.

It took me a while to get the setup working well enough. The slight haziness is due to lack of aperture - installing an adjustable aperture is next on the list.

one question pops in my mind: can you post a pic using the 16x zoom from the chengrong's superdriver?

actually that is a good idea, it will mean I can zoom in to focus better then zoom out again to take the pic.
Will give it a go soon.

You can see from the straight lines on these telephoto pics they are not taken with an ordinary K750.
They were taken with my modified K750 cam with glass lense (from powershot 350) - pics have been resized and noise filtered.

The K750 I used for this mod has a stuffed joystick (only centre push works), so I can't really use the super driver in this cell. I need a replacement mainboard (or use the one in my everyday phone, but I'm not ready for a new phone yet so that's out)
Here's a couple of raw samples:
