I really not sure if Z3 launches almost same spec will help on the late Z2's US timeframe,
at least, this season US folks shouldn't feel much different on hardware side.

very impressive, especially that it is a very scratch resistance material!
now, just imagine all sapphire glass xperia design. i know shappire glass may be too costly for sony as they struggle in business but at least they need to aim for sapphire glass to all their high end devices. at least aim to apply sapphire in front glass for start in the near future.

I usually don't comment on devices I have no interest in but C3 and its main selling point is just ludicrous. Is this an act of desperation or do Sony seriously believe that "the best selfie phone will sway people over from other makers?
Another thing, doesn't the C3 resemble a lot the leaked shot of the Z3 but just with bigger bezel?

As much as I hate to admit it, a large number of people are narcissistic and stupid enough, to buy this....
Don't think it will top sales charts, but should be enough for Sony to profit from it while it's around.

Yes, it reminds me how long it took sony ericsson to ditch that crappy proprietary "fastport" for micro usb and 3.5" headphones jack, it took them years. anyone remembers this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FastPort
many times the phone just failed to connect whether you wanted to charge the phone, listen to music, sync...

I agree that this is a ridiculous premise for a phone, and that it would never sway me to buy one phone over another, but XYZ nailed it here. Selfies are like a pandemic for attention craving middle-schoolers, and that market also happens to 1) be extremely gullible and 2) have disposable income via their parents (who probably don't know enough about tech to bother looking into one phone over another).
I was at a beach a couple months ago (a rocky, terrible beach with nothing to do), and there was a group of middle/high schoolers who literally walked around taking selfies with each other for two hours... TWO HOURS!!
That's who this phone is for. |

Lol, zomg seems to not be very happy with Sony and the C3:
"Introducing the "World's Best" phone for Selfies, the Xperia C3. 5MP (lol) front shooter with a crap LED flash and no autofocus (double lol).
One (crap) Sony.
It's like someone said, selfies are the new hotness, lets release a phone for it, then the beancounters got involved and turned it into a pile of shit. I don't doubt there is a legitimate market for selfie phones out there, but a 5MP camera with no AF and a crap flash is not the world's best and neither does it constitute a serious effort. An otherwise good idea ruined by poor execution or the Sony Way, as I like to call it.
It should have been the same phone but with a 13MP camera on the back and an 8MP camera on the front with AF and a dual LED flash. People take selfies in dark nightclubs more than anywhere else, the weak flash, poor sensor and no AF means it will be useless for it's primary function.
Stupid company with idiotic management. Until they fire the whole management team and the whole product execution team Sony will not succeed. The ideas are right but the execution is dismal." |

there are a lot of amazing ideas inside SONY lap
and those appear is just totally wrong
i fed-up after the changing of design and now , nothing appear on the Firefox & Ubuntu phones rumoured before
where is the GPS charging battery?, etc

Given that part of statistical data release in Google IO this year, Sundar Pichai said there is 91 million photos taken by android users everyday
31 million of those photos are selfies with duck faces !!
so by now you may reliase the market size Sony is targeting with this phone .. 
I wish though this feature carry on in there next flagships ..
