I didn't expect that the K700 very worse video clip has, even worser than the 6230,this is another crap cam and videorecorder from SE.
The Nokia 6230 has better cam and videoplayer at mine piont of view.......................................Shame.................SE.

This clip was shot with a digital camera, not with the k700.The clip is ABOUT the k700, not done with the K700.It says so at the begining when u download the clip.
Also, i don't think it's slow, it might be the camera or the fact that this is a prototype.

The camera I used records 15 frames per second but keep in mind that it's a still picture digital camera, not a video camera.
My experience with the K700 video application is that either the recording OR the playback didn't run very smooth. The playback was fine for 1-2 seconds, and then a blank screen was visible for a short moment.
All these devices shown was prototypes. They don't represent the final product. According to the representative demonstrating the S700, the device he had crashed very often. I don't expect the K700 video app to be representative for the final product. I have later talked to about this, and they informed me that also the devices (S700, K700) they possess are in this condition. The fact that only the video app was demonstrated at CeBIT could indicate that the rest of the operating system is far from impressive at this stage. |

I am just wondering here, why is that SE fones made in the recent past have similar shapes compared back then when Sony and Ericsson hasn't merged yet. In the likes of T68i, T29, T39 etc. The only different shaped SE fone I noticed are the Z200 and Z600, maybe because they were made - (flip-type) fones. All were contoured in a squarely/rectangular shape . . . Any comments @laffen ? |

Am I the only one that would like to have th K700 in a clamshell form factor? I wounder if SE will make a clamshell version of it, just as they did with the Z600...
I have the T68i now and I have erased many contacs in the påhone book when I have bee nbrowising the phone book and then left the phone for a while withpout going out of the phonebok menu. And then whn i pick it up, I unlock the keylock as I alwasy do. Only problem is that the phone does not go into keylock mode when inside a menu, so that little manouver erases the contac. Not nice, and I want a clam for just that reason, and som others to, but this is the most anoying one. |

Well the video seems pretty smooth when it panned from right to left whereas my mrs's Sharp GX20 dont seem as smooth as the k700 when doing the same action. The video of it is'nt too good to make any judgements so maybe when another video is shown we might see a better comparison (well i will anyway )
Hope i put some minds at rest with that comment as the GX20 does have a decent cam for taking pics with
If nobody wants it.. put it on eBay. |

Laffen, thanks for that video, although poor it lets us salivating that short video cips maybe possible.
I read on another site (not sure which) that the OS within the s700 as well as the K700 is only 40% complete thus far. I do hope that a more efficient adjusting cpu is incorporated (liek that in the Clie UX-50) where speed is adjusted to suit the application being presently used (faster for pics/vids/music playback; on the later a 10second screen shut off until a button is pressed or incoming call.).
personally I think the aluminum look may have something to do with the partnership between SE & Apple (G5 anyone?).
Just hope that this "spotlight" function when going thru menu icons can be shut off; for faster navigation - looks really cool, but SE makes functional phones first & foremost.
Who was it that swore by saying the "N" word??!!!! (aka nokia) LOL!! |

according to http://www.mobile-review.com/exhibition/cebit-se-2004-en.shtml
"Keep in mind that the main information about K700 will be available next week. Stay with us and you will know all information about the hit of summer 2004."
More original information about the K700?

I believe that the phone Eldar will test (or has already tested) is a prototype as well so don't expect too much of information for the final product |

A clamshell-phone with all features of K700 - maybe with an additional colorscreen on the outside would be great.
What about picture-ID in SE-phones?
Can anyone post a picture (eg. from t630 or t610) how the fotos of a person is shown on an incoming call ? I hope not so extremly small as in N***-phones. |

No it is not.
NOkia's so called photo ID is a joke whilst Sony Ericsson know what the real deal is. |
