I agree with Subhamstylo, I also would have imagined that the curved OLED would have been kept as Sony does recycle such components. I do welcome a flat screen and the side FPS. Moving the speakers to the bottom looks like a downgrade but who know if they will sound better or not. I do like the device being thin and camera symmetry. |

I hope for flat screen as I strongly dislike the curved ones on any phone.
If AUBE is being updated and has three lenses to gather different information from, I can definitely see this being the beast to beat.
Please Sony down let us fans down anymore.

Another thing is the removal of front logo. Sad....
I remember someone said the coming flagship will be similar to X Performance. Now it looks pretty accurate. This leaked CAD looks similar to leaked XA3U.
I don't really know where did he got the CAD value. However, it seems to be those accessories manufacturers.
Well, at least it got a flat screen, side fps. |

Based on my calculations, the ratio should be around 20.9:9 (very close to 21:9). Why do some people said that it is 18:9 when it is obviously much taller than other phones (just look at the height of that phone).

It's fun and tragic that when I move from XZ1 to Huawei p20 pro then this Xperia with Triple cam show up one week after. 
Still I hope SONY Mobile will come back to SEA by the end next year or 2020.

i think those who are saying this looks midrange make a very good point. the triple sensor is gone. not sure if AUBE can account for lack of triple sensor or if the 3rd camera can make up for this, but i would think not. overall, the design does look a lot like the mid-range. especially with how the camera lenses look and the placement of the fps and the fact that its back to flat screen.
personally, i enjoy the flat screen more but i don't see sony abandoning their new design philosophy so easily.
i think i will join the others in saying this looks mid-range and that we have yet to see the true flagship and definitely haven't seen the premium (which i hope is 4K HDR OLED)
really wish they would go the google route and improve their software instead of adding more cameras. go back to single, at most dual cam. improve camera software, which they have the capability to do with their true cybershot team. take out the "rumble pack", put the headphone jack back in, larger battery capacity + already excellent software optimization. FPS placement in screen would be great and should be there to compete with others.
3 months til we find out...

Small button is power.
The bigger one is FPS.
To avoid patent issues in USA.
A tech site here wrote article about this case.
I was talking to someone ( I think this person lives in Russia now) and he said he suspects the reason of 21:9 would be 240Hz.
He also said about 4k@960

If you take a close look at the blue gel case (GSMArena has the best look) you see a hole on the top and three on the bottom. Top one looks like a headphone jack while the bottom would be the speaker, microphone and USB-C. Buttons are for power, volume and camera with the side mounted FPS. The hole at the top is interesting as the leaks did not have this but a SIM tray up top which then makes me think of this is the real XA3 or the XZ4. Also, the fact that the leaks are out suggests that the announcement is coming soon. |
