Welcome to probably the most exclusive club on Esato I'm sure more people have been on here with rarer phones.
I'm current playing reckless getaway, make sure you download this game. The aim is to escape the police cars whilst at the same time try crashing into and knocking every other car off the road going in the same direction.
Great fun!

Yeah it's cool to have a different device from everyone else!! When I seen the Play in a store I did not think it was as big as I thought it was. It's still chubbier than the others but even if I never play as many games as most people it's still first & foremost a more than capable Android device. Does the Play come with a pre loaded screen protector like the Arc & X10?? I really just thought it's a bargain now so why not. I have also purchased a white battery cover so it won't look so grubby with the black gloss. Just spoke with Clove as for some reason my house number did not show up on the order. So I rang them & it's being shipped out today next day delivery And reckless fun with a game sounding like that I love it!!!!!!!

Yeah, it does come with the same screen protector but the underlying glass is NOT as hardwearing as the one on the X10 so as soon as I get the chance I'm reapplying a good protector.

Why has the price plummeted so much?? Could it be that maybe it was priced too high to start with?

Possibly. Not sure. Though judging how they are being snapped up now at the bargain price then yes could be the answer. The Play was the most expensive Xperia of the lot.

It's probably part of the strategy.
They wouldn't have made much money on the Play initially as it's a niche phone and there wasn't much Sony gaming content available.
Now there must be well over a hundred PS titles as well as all the Play Optimised games on Market.
I've paid for quite a few games already and it has been said that something like 70% - 80% of Play owners have bought games and are more likely to pay for them than standard phone owners so despite it being a niche phone, it could still be a nice little earner for them.

Yeah, just do a search on market for Xperia Play and there are quite a few optimised ones as well as all the touchscreen ones.

I've not touched it yet, it comes pre-loaded but it's just not my type of game and I can't uninstall it without debranding.
PocketGamer has a good dedicated Xplay Section.

I thought the pre loaded games were on the memory card as there is only 400mb of internal memory so i believe. Can you not delete any of them? Not that it bothers me.

Some apps like BBiPlayer and Brucelee give no options to uninstall or move to SD card but then that might just be my fw.

I good idea, if only to get rid of the bloatware which comes with operator branding.
I'll make sure my Orange version is generic when purchased.
