Hey guys, if anyone knows how to get around this problem or hear for real about the new firmware, pls post. I HATE having to keep checking if I missed a text or a call whenever I return to my desk at work.

The problem some people have is that you can't set the standby clock to be on all the time so to save pressing any buttons to see the time and, what some people view more importantly, whether or they have a text/missed call.

Does anyone know of a way to stop the radio frequencies updating when they have a poor signal?

In the options --> rds menu there's 'Turn off AF'.
Although my 850 is doing better than my 800 in this respect as that one would regularly just keep looking for an alternate frequency and you had to stop it manually.

@Tom_Toms
You may have your video record setting to record for MMS. When in video shoot mode go to settings -> Video length and select Normal. Should sort you out.

Does anyone have a problem with their K850 crashing whilst not using it? Today and yesterday, my phone has been in my pocket and I've felt it vibrate. I've looked at it and the keypad is lit. The phone has seemingly crashed. After about 10 or 15 seconds, it recovers. This has happened probably 5 times. The phone was new on Sunday. [addsig]

So can anyone visually confirm that K850i records video in 30fps???

JUST KIDDING!

I finally finished reading through all the posts. I thought I was ready to purchase this phone, but then I'm iffy.

A few things that bug me most:

I've read a couple of people now post, that they accidentally answered or touched the touchscreen part with their face.

How often does this happen to you?

The smudge factor, solution to this is doing that the user who used the vinyl sticker paper to cover the rear.

Oh yeah, I dislike the missing standby clock.

Still debating over this or the N95 8GB. WHY SONY?? WHY couldn't you just put a damn flash into the W910i!!!!!

The touchscreen/face interface happens a lot when I'm on a call.

It's completely sim-free from the CPW. What's strange is that this is my second handset from them, and it's a later build. My first handset had problems, but nothing this annoying! If it's software, I'll hang on to it, but if it's hardware I'd rather get it replaced while I can, instead of having to have it repaired. But Sony Ericsson will just tell me no one else has reported this problem anyway... [addsig]

Does somebody know how to change the theme of the mediaplayer? I have already seen pictures with an orange theme instead of blue.

Themes change the color scheme of the media player. For example the theme Mystic Sony Ericsson changes the media player color scheme. Then there is Clarity which comes with the phone. It changes the Media player background to white-to-grey gradient.

hey all,

i have a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to.

this thing has internet capabilities, yes?

if you are out of the house traveling, how can you log on? is it only through a network that you pay for from your service provider?
can you log on through hotspots? I notice it does not include 802.1a,b or g so how does that work (if it does)?

thanks.
